Chemo/losing weight after getting amoena prosthetic.

So, my Amoena form was great initially, but I am losing a lot of weight on chemo, and my remaining breast is getting smaller. It still fits in a d cup bra with the form, but I think it will be noticeably smaller than the form soon. Anyone end up finding a way to get a smaller size-contacting where you got it, exchanges, etc.? I didn't get it that long ago, insurance paid, and it was $300 something dollars!

Thanks,

L

It'd probably be fastest to get in touch with your insurance company and see what they say as the answer is likely to be pretty variable depending on your actual insurance plan.

Mine offered to pay for special bras and prosthetics if I wanted them but, as I didn't, I didn't look into it much further than that.

I'm not even in a bra yet, but went for a fitting -- to have doctor tell me to wait until December. The saleswomen was pushing a size 6 (which would be bigger than my other real boob). I bought a size 5 boob (ameona same style) on ebay for about $28. I would check ebay. It was used but in good shape. If you need a new bra, then maybe you can "enhance" your real boob, with a little foam insert. They sell them online and at sewing stores.

maybe something like this, lots of stuff to pic from. Very low cost.
