Waiting is hard.
Hi there, friends.
Last week I found a lump in my left breast. I went to the doctor about it Tuesday and while she didn't think it was serious, she put in for me to have a mammogram or an ultrasound. Because I'm only 22, they did an ultrasound on Wednesday (yesterday) but they found some strange lumps so they did a mammogram as well. That was also inconclusive, so today I hadn't a biopsy done. They actually did two biopsies, because there are two suspicious areas in my left breast. Now im just waiting until early next week for the results. I'm not sure what sort of BIRAD rating i was given. Is that something I should inquire about, or would it only make me worry more?
Needless to say, this has been quite stressful. My husband and I were supposed to move across the country tomorrow, but we decided to postpone it a week. Making that decision and worrying about how it affects us has made this whole thing more difficult. I know the chances of it not being benign are rare; none of the doctors seemed to think it was serious, but I'm definitely still scared. Thank you all for reading. Thisseems like a beautifl community. ❤️

Johnson, I don't have any input on the BIRAD, but wanted to wish you well. I hope it's nothing serious and a quick and easy fix. The fear and worry is just awful. You're right about this being a beautiful community. Good luck on your results..

Distraction is your friend right now. Watch Netflix, take walks, do whatever you like to do that is also distracting and keeps you busy. Some of us got a couple of Ativan for the wait too!! Hoping for the best for you, which seems likely

It is hard and very unsettling.
It kinda feels like you're standing on the edge of a cliff waiting for someone to either push you off or back you down. Waiting for it is nerve racking!
Fingers crossed for you

Thank you all so much for your kind words! I'm feeling better today, and just trying to take it one moment at a time. I saw someone else say something like "you either have it or you don't." That seems intimidating but it kinda made me feel better- I either have something or not, and worrying won't change the outcome. I'm resting in hope, for today at least! Wishing and praying for the best for each of you, as well.

hi J95-
Waiting sucks, and I am sorry you are going through it! I would think that the BIRADS score is moot at this point since you already had the biopsy. That score is what gets your case moving faster after the imaging, from what I understand. Knowing it now will not give you any comfort, really. Hoping for you to have B9 result!

Don't worry about the BIRAD. It won't change how much you worry.
Whatever is distracting for you is good! I vote for outside walks and TV comedies. This waiting is a tough time, try and be kind to yourself. Wishing you nothing but good news.
