Hi all. New to this topic but not to this forum. I am between lymphedema therapists. After five years of LE, I found a doctor specializing in BC rehab and he prescribed a LymphaPress pump and a new therapist. I got the pump today. Since I don't see my new therapist for a week or two, I was wondering if I could ask a question here about how you guys do things. Do you wear an overnight garment like the Tribute as well as use the pump

I run my FlexiTouch for it's hour program usually in the morning. I always wear my Solaris Tribute at night. Day garments during the day.

I am wearing a sleeve during the day and wrapping at night. How helpful are the pump and the night time garment and are they expensive? Thanks

    Happiness2,

I get all the following from the machine for 1 hr per day of usage.

    1. I don't do manual drainage bc the machine does 100 % better than me

    2. my bad arm  along with current arm measurements are thinner than before the start of usage. who would not wants a thin arm?

my mastectomy fitter said I was end of size 2 compression sleeve  but now I am beg of 2 so I had to get size 1 sleeve

I put pictures of my arms for comparison in July 2017 chemo section if you want to see.

    3. This is a natural sleeping agent. sleep is  good for everything.

costwise,  chk your health insurance documents, this type of pump is usually covered under medical equipments.

if so and you are recent dxd, chances are you will be covered 100 % by health insurance.

    I highly recommend it!!!

I've only had the pump for a week or so. During previous years of treatment I was with therapists that were against the pump by training. I never found the MLD done by them or me to be particularly helpful. I am hopeful about this. Glad to know it's not just me being made sleepy by the process. Thanks for all of your comments

My LET Guy (an OT) was opposed to MLD machines initially as the ones he had had some experience with he thought were 'worthless'. After basically a year of him and me dealng with my LE (and after seeking out info from other LET's), he decided on ordering my FlexiTouch for me. Great idea! It does a much better 'job' than I could daily.
