Hello everyone. I am 36 years old, and had surgery, chemo, and radiation two years ago for BC. I tried all of the AI's, but had a TERRIBLE time tolerating them, as they made me VERY sick to the point where I was completely non-functional etc. Anyways, so I am on the Lupron shot ONLY..at least for now, since it is 'somewhat' more tolerable for me. It isn't 'ideal' as my ONC says, but it is 'something' that they can do for me. Anyways, the Lupron puts a person into 'chemically induced' menopause, and I am experiencing all of the side effects that go with it. The one side effect that TRULY bugs me is the fact that my hair came back very 'thin', whereas before it was EXTREMELY thick and dense (i.e my hair on my head, eyebrows, and lashes etc.) . I know for a fact that it is because I am menopausal. my question is .....has anyone found a way to grow hair back thick and dense WHILE in menopause WITHOUT using anything hormonal ?? ( I was diagnosed with ER/PR +). I have used different shampoos, rogaine etc, but nothing seems to work. I have lost alot of confidence and would LOVE to know if anyone has found a solution to this type of problem.

sk, I am sorry you are going through this. I am triple negative, so I am not on any after treatment meds, so I do not have any experience with them. But, I too had thick, big hair, after chemo, not so much. I have found that rather than be anxious about it, I am just going to rock it. I got my hair cut by a cool chick who could do a good pixie...not an old lady cut, something fun and hip. It made me feel so good! I really do not miss my hair now. I know thin hair, bad hair, just hair...can affect us so strongly. And I see young girls with tons of hair and I say to myself, gee, remember what that was like? But then I pop in the shower and blow dry my hair in 2 minutes...kinda love that! I know this is not what you were asking, you asked for product info. But I hope that I can encourage you to maybe look at youself in a new way, to maybe try something that will be a confidence booster.I sure hope this helps, that is my intent, to help and encourage.
