5 days post op. The surgeon did not have to take muscle., only the tumor. Groggy from all the anesthesia., but healing well.

I have a rash where all the surgical prep was placed.

I see my surgeon next week.

Hi., I got my surgical pathology: recurrent Invasive ductal carcinoma with multiple FOCI. (the 2 red dots are multiple foci) My surgeon thinks I need chemo. My question is: what chemo had the least side effects for you?

Itbis different for everyone. I have had both TC (Taxotere and Cytoxan) and AC+T (adriamycin, Cytoxan, and taxol). TC is generally regarded as gentler, but it was harder on me than AC+T. TC had also not shown to be slightly less effective ("not noninferior)

I had TCHP for the first round - Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin & Perjeta. I found that was much easier for me to take than AC - Adriamycin & Cytoxan. But yes, we are all different so it's hard to guess what might be easiest on you.

Pabbie, so sorry to hear you had a recurrence. It was just a few months ago you and I were chatting about trivial things, like bra and prosthesis, and now this damn disease comes back. Sigh.

They had to take my muscle when I had my chest wall recurrence, as the tumor had started to invade it. I'm down to the bone in places. I call it my upgrade surgery, upgrading me to a full radical mastectomy.

I had CMF chemo, followed by taxol. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't horrible either. They wanted to give me AC, but I'd already had my lifetime max of adriamycin when I had my bone cancer as a teen.

I wish you the best, and please post so we know how you're doing.
