Mastectomy after radiation??

I am just a year out from my diagnosis and my recent bilateral mammogram showed 2-4 areas of concern on the opposite breast. Go figure!! I am now waiting for an MRI. I am obviously devastated and anxious. My question is; if it is cancer I feel pretty sure I will have a double mastectomy. But since I had radiation already on my left side, can a mastectomy be performed or is the skin and tissue too damaged?
