I was diagnosed June 2017 with HER2 positive and estrogen positive breast cancer. At that time the ultrasound was 1.8 while we were waiting to have an appointment with the surgical oncologist we had a pet scan the pet scan read .9 cm then we had the MRI p.m. arrives at 1.3. cm. We got different opinions from different doctors decided to go to the city of hope . The surgical oncologist says she goes with pet scan and felt that since the tumor was under 2.0 and all test for showing no lymph node involvement we went ahead and did all impacted me with 2 lymph nodes. Will find out Wednesday as long as there's no lymph node involvement and the tumor is 2.5 I can have one chemo drug and Herceptin for 12 weeks instead of having two chemo drugs and 2 other drugs for six weeks . I know my journey has just begun but I already feel tired but ready to fight!!

    Hi Jenny!

Yes, being a breast cancer patient is no fun. And, yes, different scans may show your lump to be a different size. Sounds like you're getting Taxol + Herceptin for twelve weeks. I did this regimen as well. It was OK, but it did give me diarrhea, which I controlled with Imodium. One thing that I found helpful was to keep a journal of my chemo side effects so I could plan for each cycle. I knew the diarrhea would hit on Day #3, so I'd take my Imodium, first thing in the morning on that day.

Drop by the Triple Positive Board! There are several breast cancer patients on the board who have done Taxol + Herceptin.

    ((Hugs))
