i finished chemo 3 weeks ago and am hoping and praying my period will come back, i am 40 and single and always wanted kids and as if 40 wasn't hard enough on my eggs adding the chemo to the mix will make it fairly impossible to ever have children naturally. i like to know my odds but i am hoping and praying my period will come back, now that i know i am in for months of wait i will have to just be patient which is suck at but after reading all your posts at least i don't feel so alone anymore.
thanks for all the information and hope ladies

Hi I just finished chemo 5 weeks ago and I started tamoxifen 1 week ago. I just started my period, I am a little concerned about this because I am ER+/PR+. My understanding is that the tamoxifen puts you in menopause so there is not the surge of hormones for the cancer to feed off of. If I cont to have my periods every month wouldn't my cancer then come back, thanks I hope someone can answer this for me.LP

I don't think your period will impact that.. Tamoxifen does a great job. Talk to your oncologist for relief

I finished chemo 6 month ago to the day today and still no period...I decided today to start praying and wishing for it hard to come back. Been waiting every day since chemo ended, I don't know why everybody seems to be happy to not get it anymore. I am 40 years old and have no children or boyfriend and even without the cancer I am pushing it all. I am just getting impatient. I ready average is 6 to 8 months but I am losing hope by the day. Any tips or tricks or advice?
Thanks for letting me vent.

I started chemo in October 2015 Triple Positive. I had just turned 50 in that prior May but was still having regular heavy periods not even thinking about stoping. My peroid actually stopped mid cycle first chemo treatment that say day been having crazy hot flashes for over 2.5 years. Had a very small one day spoting a couple times in 2.5 years but now now. Almost 3 years later acting like its trying to start again when my hot flashes stoped about 2 months ago, I thought oh good! I am done its all over. I am now 53 I should be in menopause naturally this is messed up. I am so very glad for the younger gals on this page that haven had childern yet and they have hope of still having childern. I have 3 grown adult childern and I am 53 I want mine to stay gone!!! I guess if it comes back I have no contol over it. However its been nice not having it. I will take the hot flashes over a peroid. Oh well hopefully a fluk its not heavy like before. I had really heavy periods I hated them I hope they dont come back full on again. I will post back in and let you know but its my third day of spotting bleeding at least not heavy lets hope they dont decide to come back regular for me. I am so over them.
