Unexpected surprise this weekend
I went out to dinner with my boyfriend on Friday. When he picked me up, he told me that we needed to swing by Steak-n-Shake to pick up some sunglasses that his mom had left there.
When we got to the restaurant, I stayed in the car while he went in to grab the glasses. A minute or so later he comes out and is talking on the phone. When he gets to the car, he puts the phone in his pocket and tells me that his mom says we're at the eying place. Apparently the glasses are at the other Steak-n-Shake a few miles down the road. No big deal, we weren't in a hurry and the other restaurant was on the way.
So we hop on the highway and travel up the road to the right restaurant. Once again, I stayed in the car while he went in to grab the glasses. A few minutes later, my car door opens and my boyfriend is standing there with a ring box.
As you've probably guessed, he was proposing. You see, we first met in the parking lot of that particular Steak-n-Shake two and a half years ago.
It doesn't make my diagnosis or treatment go away. But it has given me something else to think about. And more importantly, I'm really happy.

Thank you all for your well wishes. He's my best friend, so I'm very happy. He's the one and only person I called after I got the breast cancer diagnosis. I didn't tell anyone else (including my family) until 2 days before surgery. And he's the one I took to the hospital for my surgery. He's been by my side throughout this entire ordeal.

Then he's a true keeper!!!!!!
