Pain after TE Surgery
I tried driving my car after a week of my surgery and the next day my lower back and my right leg (bonds) are really painful. Is there anyone facing the similar issue as me? I still not able to sleep on my side and I'm really tired. Can we go for a massage after a week of surgery? Appreciate if you could share some info with me.
Thank You

Layrosa. welcome! I am sorry you are having pain. I hope others with similar stories will respond soon. Try to take it super easy for the next few weeks, let your body heal. Have you had a chance to review some info on this wonderful website yet? Hoping you are feeling better. Gentle hugs to you

Layrosa - I'm not sure what surgery you had... Lumpectomy? BMX? Exchange? What do you have ahead? Chemo? Rads?
That you're driving a week later is way more than I was allowed to do. I was not allowed to put my arms above my shoulders or carry a gallon jug of milk. I could not sleep on my side for more than year. I was told definitely NOT to go for a massage until 'future notice'. If so, maybe it should be a LE trained physical therapist. Even at that, every single one of us is different. You need to ask your doc these questions.
Please go to 'my profile' and fill in your diagnosis & treatment so we can better answer.

TE sx is mastectomy(s) was done either recently or this is the exchange sx. It's quite normal to be in discomfort. Most of us are and for quite some time. Some people's muscles don't stretch as easily/well as others. It may or may not resolve quickly. I trained myself to sleep on my back as well since I had bilat mastects. Didn't think I could do it as I hate sleeping on my back and usually don't sleep but I put myself on the couch where I really didn't have much of a choice. Now I can sleep on my back.
Make sure you follow the precautions you were given, and you should have been given them from your surg. Lifting and doing too much is something to watch out for. You need to allow yourself time to heal and not rush it. Have others help you. Most people love to help.

The tightness I have without even going for my first filling is horrible... I hope things start to loosen up!

I had my BMX with TEs a week ago & I am still in a lot of pain & discomfort, especially on my right side..it seems worse. I am so swollen my chest under my neck area looks like a football player
I see my dr tomorrow. Part of me wishes I would not have put TEs in but i want implants so I didn't have a choice. Someone please tell me it gets better.

My experience with TEs following BMX presented as a fair amount of discomfort for the first, say, 4-6 weeks. Not unbearable at all. Just sharp shooting pains, nerves tingling and burning. I simply didn't want anything touching my skin. I think this is all normal -- and most was the BMX healing. Now -- although I found fills to be uncomfortable after (I'm really small, so please don't expect this will happen to you) -- I think the fills lifted the TE off a nerve that was bothering me. So aside from a day or so discomfort with the fills, they actually are better filled.
CRAZY world we're in!!!
Good luck to all of you. (I still have my TEs until Sept, btw. Will be just over 6 months.)
