Hey all!

I cannot believe I am here, but I'm so glad a forum like this exists where we can all share our experiences/thoughts. I am married, 33, and mom to a 7 yr old boy.

I recently got diagnosed with IDC, right breast, triple negative, cancer cells are in at least one lymph node under my right armpit (this was confirmed during FNA). There is no history of breast cancer in my family. So it was a complete shocker when I found a rather big lump one day while randomly scratching my boob!

No treatment plan as of yet. Doctor ran a slew of tests, including CT scan, MRI, bone scan. She said there was something on my sternum and tailbone. Now, the tailbone could be due to a bad fall I had a few years ago. The sternum bit is what worries me since I get pain from time to time. Sometime I have to pull my bra out a bit to relieve the pain. Anyone get this type of pain and it turned out to be cancerous? The doctor said it could be either cancerous or just inflammation.

So she has ordered a PET scan to confirm this. I go for that test this Monday. I hope it's nothing. Otherwise that could indicate metastasis, right?

Just trying to stay positive and I'm rather eager to start treatment and/or have surgery. Doc said it could go either way, once results are in she will have a better idea of how to proceed.

Thanks all :)

So sorry you're here MakeupLover. The beginning of the journey is the worst - all the tests and the waiting. Every time I looked st my kids the first two weeks I wanted to cry.

I too had something suspicious on my sternum - turned out to be nothing.

My greatest advice for you is to not google TNBC - you will give yourself nightmares. Go to the TNBC forums on here or go to legitimate sites.

    Hugs

I agree with VL22, the TNBC forum will have many women experienced in the most current TN treatment protocols, which I believe frequently involve neo-adjuvant chemo to shrink the bc prior to surgery, as well as to verify which chemo agents are most successful. Many women find that they have a very significant response. So sorry you find yourself in our club, but glad you found your way here. You can do this! ((hugs))

SO sorry you're here -- but you've found a wonderful place for understanding, advice and information. I could not have made it through this "journey" without the support I've found here.

Ask questions, no matter how small. And ask your doctor about an anxiety med if you find you need one. I was researching around the clock those first few weeks -- and sleep was hard to come by. That isn't going to help.

HUGS. And know that we're thinking about you.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind replies.

I'll try to stay away from google lol. I'll def check out the TN boards on here.

How do you guys put all your info about your diagnosis on the bottom? Thanks!

    Makeuplover,

Go to the top of the page to the "My Profile". Click on it and go to My Diagnoses. You can fill out the info there. Be sure to make the info public, so others can see what you're dealing with.

I'm triple negative (on one side) I had neadjuvant (before surgery) chemo for five months followed by BMX (bilateral mastectomy). I didn't do radiation, but I'm on antihormonal medication for my er+/pr+ cancer. You won't gave to worry about that, since you're only triple negative

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this, especially at such a young age. The treatment is tough, but very doable. You can do this, sweetie. Sending warm hugs.

Makeup, sorry you have to be here. Hopefully, you will get some answers soon. I had very weak positive receptors on my original tumor. No family history either. Chemo had great results. Even cleared a node that was originally positive. I'm hoping your treatment is equally effective. it's good that you are trying to stay positive. It does make you feel better. Sometimeswhen I'm feeling down I have to get out and clear my mind or talk to someone about something other than cancer. It can consume your entire life otherwise and I dont want to live like that.

Trishyla, I was just looking at usurp profile because it is similar to mine. Did you have a radiation at all?
