Hi Katie...so sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately I can't give you any personal experience but I do know there are women on this forum who have gone through the same thing. Many times it turns out NOT to be a recurrence. I'm hoping someone will come along with the same experience. Please take a moment to make your stats public so we can answer your questions more accurately. Good luck and keep us posted.

thnx dtad.I am eagerly waiting for more of like me to come forward.....thank you

I wouldn't worry about the lung nodule. I have seen scads and scads of posts from folks with lung nodules and most of them turn out to be benign. Your doctor will probably just schedule you for another scan in 6 months or so to see if there has been any change. Benign lung nodules are quite common.

thnx cive for joining me,I am worried because my mom is tnbc and i cant wait for 6 months tommorow i will make everything clear by visiting her oncologist.I would ask all of my questions from him.

I had (have?) a single 4mm lung nodule in the right upper lobe. It was found on a CT angiogram to rule out a blood clot during chemo. My onc was not concerned at all. They compared it to my PET/CT from 3 months earlier and there had been no change. They told me "we see them all the time." I keep it pushed to the back of my mind. I had TNBC and had a pCR after chemo. The nodule was found 2 years ago. So far no issues. Best wishes.

Hi Katie, I have multiple tiny nodules in both lungs that were seen on my very first chest CT done before I started chemo. Like others have said lung nodules are often found coincidentally and if they are small and present no specific traits on the pictures, they just do CT scans periodically to confirm no change in size. Mine didn't change through chemo and remained the same two years later. However, due to suspicious appearance that is often indicative of earlylung cancer they continue to monitor me four years after BC diagnosis.
At the bottom of the radiologist report that you got, there should be recommended follow up. In many cases, they recommend repeat CTs every six months over the first two years or per clinical picture. You should discuss this with your oncologist.
Best of luck to you!

Thnq Muska,My Mom's CAT scan report said
A small 4mm nodule is seen in the posterior basal segment of right lung. ? significance
There was nothing mentioned to follow up or not.Even doctors are reluctant to say that they will observe it.They keep on sayi g we can't do anything because it is too small.

Hi Katie, I didn't realize you were asking about your mom. Your profile signature reads the diagnosis was three years ago, what prompted the chest CT now?
Best to your mom

She had pain during urination and passing bowel. So doctors gave him CT scan of abdomen and pelvis. They find Fibroid in uterus and this small 4mm nidule incidentally.
-
Thnq Brightsky.I am also trying to push it to the back of my mind but my mom have some dry cough and irritation in neck. She coughs 4-5 times a day. This all makes me worried.
-
It sounds like your mom only had an abdominal and pelvic CT? If she is having respiratory symptoms, such as a cough, you should tell her doctor you are really worried and ask if they will order a CT of her chest to make sure everything is okay. I think a good and reasonable oncologist would do that considering her diagnosis.

I have 2 lung nodules that are a few mm in diameter. They watched mine for a year and they didn't respond to chemo or grow. Its been 5+ years. Lung nodules are pretty common. Try not to get too anxious (easier said than done I know).

Thnq Brightsky and Chasingzoe.
They are saying that cough is a late side effect of radiation.Thats why they are not doing any furhter tests.PET scan can't be used because the nodule is only 4mm in size.
