Expanders gone!! Implants in!!

yesterday was my swap out surgery. It was so much easier than the mastectomy surgery. Sill in some pain, but I can mostly use my arms this time, I was a total T-Rex after my mastectomy.

The pressure is a hundred times better, with the expanders I felt like I was wearing 3 way too small sports bras 24/7, now it just feels like one right sized sports bra.

Also, the implants are way more comfortable than those horrible rock hard expanders.

This was my 4th surgery in 4 months, I really hope I get a break for awhile.

So, if you're concerned about your swap out, it's really not too bad!! :)

    Hello Grammieshell,

Congratulations!!!!! I can't wait. I have two more 100cc fills and then wait a month for exchange surgery. I'm thinking the last week of September (hopefully) so I won't miss the beginning of hunting (bow) season. I'm glad to hear you feel so good just after one day.

    Best wishes!!!

    Grammieshell,

Your post is soooo helpful to me. I'm not worried about the swap itself, mostly if what I've been feeling is in any way normal and if I should scrap the whole trying to eventually look normal thing because it is such an uncomfortable journey. Your post gives me hope. It describes exactly how I've been feeling (I tell people I feel like when Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk). I was planning on December surgery for time off logistics but sooner is looking more appealing these days.

I'm trying to remain grateful every day!

    Thanks!

I'm so glad, what a long, crazy, confusing, uncomfortable journey we are on! One day at a time!! I love the hulk comparison. I am 6 days out now, and besides being really tired, I feel great. :) and I look more normal than I have in 5 months. I don't look like a movie star with perfect breasts, but I'm not deformed anymore either, so I'll take it!! there are a few things that are bothering me about how the implants look, but I keep hearing they will change, stop looking! Lol

Congrats! My exchange was 11 days ago. Doesn't it feel sooo much better than expanders?

Thank you!! I am SO looking forward to getting rid of these blasted things. The hard edges are making me crazy. Good to know the surgery is much easier.

This post is just for me, too! Thanks, Grammie!!!

I'm set for Exchange on 9/7. And wondering about how limited I'll be, etc. I've just gotten back into workout routine (yoga, weights -- but gentle -- lots of walking) and I don't want to have to start back at zero like with BMX.

One question. I have alloderm and across my incisions (fold under breast, as I was N/S-sparing) it just seems "tight" to me. Do they remove this at Exchange or leave it? I believe my PS said she reviews it to see how it's integrated. I guess what I'm saying is, I hope for more movement than I have now (I'm not restricted but not quite 100% back to pre-C.) Like in yoga, my arms do not go straight back and along the floor overhead like when you do a good stretch. Hoping implants bring some flexibility back since they aren't HARD ROCKS!

    Glad everyone is doing well.
