Liver Mets and high liver function tests concern...

Hello everyone. I am new here, but not very new to breast cancer. Watched my mother fight and lose her battle about 12 years ago. Now I am fighting the same war.

I have liver mets and seems like with every monthly blood draw, my ALT's and AST's are rising. I am currently on Ibrance/Femara (Letrozole) combo, as well as Gabapentin (for hot flashes). I have a call into my MO, but I would like to hear from people with experience. I'm only 7 months into this stage IV diagnosis, and about 10 months into BC diagnosis. Still fairly new. Any suggestions would be great :)

Hi there, I had an episode last summer where my AST and ALT continued to rise. At one point, one was over 900 points. My MO sent me to a liver specialist. I was in a trial at the time, and turns out, I was having an autoimmune response to the medication after months of being on the medicine. Prednisone eventually brought my levels down, and I am still on an immune suppressant. But otherwise am doing well.

Thats just my specific experience. But something that stuck with me - there are a lot of things that can cause liverlevels to rise. We (and often our MOs) automatically assume its cancer. But it may not be. Even though my scans at the time didnt show progression, the half of the tumor board still suggested switching my protocol, assuming the cancer was getting worse. So i would highly recommend seeing a liver specialist if it continues to rise and with no clear cause.
