Absolutely. Opting to have an excisional biopsy, if for no other reason but comfort, is completely understandable. Where in PA are you? There must be well regarded Breast Surgeons somewhere nearby, or closer than DC. My surgeon is in NJ, and well liked. But I will tell you after an MRI guided biopsy of suspicious things, she said it was benign, and would just be removing my cancer... Later I read the pathology report and it said, "Pappilloma found. If patient refuses removal, it should be carefully watched." Well, patient, ME, didn't know anything about it. I ultimately decided to have a BMX as I couldn't trust someone else to watch me as closely as I watch me.

Hi Ladies! It's been a while since I've posted, been doing the "watch and wait", trying to keep it at the back of my mind. Found a new Breast Specialist, a friend with previous BC diagnosis sees and he's closer home.

I went in April for my annual mammo and paid for the added option of 3-D due to my dense breasts. Also, went this past week for 6 month follow up bilateral MRI and right breast ultrasound.

Unfortunately, got the letter with those dreaded words "abnormality found that requires further testing"...much to my surprise the letter also said "If you have not spoken to your care provider about further testing, you should do this as soon as possible." I already have an appt. scheduled with him first week of August.

One thing I know for certain, if there is a biopsy needed, I will request anything other than FNA! Don't know the specifics, but am really scared of the possibilities!!!

Freaking just a bit!!   Laurie  :(

Hi Lulu I live i Australia but just reading here about your journey and it's really encouraging me to go and get my biopsy done because my 3cm lumps on my breast is a complex cyst and I'm really scared to death with this...I just wanted to ask how did you go with your test...hope your results turn out well..

Kapisi, Lulu70 hasn't posted since August 2, 2014, so she most likely did not have bc so did not return. Please do follow up with your medical provider about any new or concerning breast symptoms. Good luck!
