Did your affected breast change shape?

I'm not diagnosed but I realized today that on top of a lump, my left breast is also flat at the bottom. I have silicon implants, so rupture is a possibility. But with the lump and no pain, it's unlikely. One breast is nice and round under ( ) and one is flat ( | it freaked me out a bit today. Anyone else have that?

I'm in that perpetual state of anxiety waiting for tests. They have all been ordered from the doctor. Just waiting for radiology to call. Sigh.

No one here can tell you about your possible ruptured implant issues. This Forum is for those who are "Just Diagnosed" meaning have a DX of some type off BC. See your Dr and keep to appropriate Forum and Thread already started..

Jeez. Got it. I can't really ask those who aren't diagnosed if their breast cancer preluded with a change in breast shape or not, hence the new post. I understand implants are different, however I did state that it is very likely not the implant, and considering approx. 5 million women have breast implants in the US, its not exactly NOT related.

    Appreciate the warm welcome though.

Kristiann - if you really think you might have an existing ruptured implant, you need to get to your surgeon right away. Or your GYN or whoever ordered & monitors your augmentation. If you have the 'new' gummy silicone, it will probably not spread. Otherwise it is somewhat urgent.

Kick is correct though. you need to post on the 'not diagnosed but worried' threads. This issue would have nothing to do with breast cancer. Breast cancer patients with implants do not have the same issues because there is no muscle or tissue left to hold an implant and reconstruction is not just a cosmetic choice.

And the answers you have gotten on your other thread have been from diagnosed women and a radiologist

Kristiann, I have just been diagnosed with Breast cancer in my breast that has an implant, my tumor is underneath my nipple in the 6 o clock position.

I noticed before diagnosis that my breast looked a bit flat underneath, also if I tense my muscles it sort of pulls in in that area.

Please get checked out for some peace of mind.

    Xx

I did. I even went to urgent care hoping they would send me right in. The doctor wanted to, sent for a stat ultrasound. Radiology refused because it wasn't an emergency. Health care here is just so frustratsting. I'm waiting on radiologists call to schedule the diagnostic mammogram and u/s. They should be calling me NO LATER than next Thursday. It's such a crappy wait. I had so much anxiety over it last week I gave myself a migraine. I'll go back to the worried but not diagnosed area. Thank you.

Thanks Bella 76! It is an odd shape change. I will have testing soon, just waiting on the call. Two different doctors sent in for diagnostic mammograms.

    Thanks again

Mine did. In don't have implants but I noticed a fullness in my left breast about 2 months before I was diagnosed.

Best of luck to you - I hope it's nothing!

    No change in anything.

I'm sorry you were not welcomed with your post. I hope it proves to be a cyst or something without cancer or rupture of implant. Human bodies are notorious for not following a plan.

FYI they found my BC because one breast was larger than the other on a mammogram.
