Calling ladies who had single mastectomy

I had a unilat mx with recon. I was a B cup before surgery and now a DD. My plastic surgeon performed a balancing augmentation on the healthy breast during reconstructive surgery for the mastectomy side because I decided to increase my cup size with my surgery. I called it my "gift with purchase".

The scars are minimal on both. I had an excellent surgeon and she did her best to make the scars small.

My mastectomy was extremely painful and I remember thinking to myself, "Thank the Gods that I didn't choose to have a bilateral!" Then, I couldn't understand how any woman could deal with the pain of both sides having surgery. How would she eat? How would she wipe after using the toilet? I could barely move my left side after the mastectomy...but maybe it's because my surgery was very difficult and the surgeon was all up in my axilla.

Now, it's been two years and the memory of the pain has all but subsided. I think if a woman has a lot of help, a double would be doable. But I would not ask for that kind of pain.

Also, I really like having nipple sensation in my healthy boob. My mastectomy breast is like this cold dead thing on my chest. I wouldn't like to have two of those. If you have enough tissue for a flap, it would be warm and soft and nice. I didn't have the option as I had no extra tissue. For me, it was implant or nothing. I chose the implant.

I had a unilateral mastectomy in October of 2016. They look very differently from each other naked but in clothes the symmetry is pretty good. It would be nice if they "matched" but I wouldn't trade having one real breast for it. My reconstructed breast feels cold and dead to me, it is only decoration. It is so numb that I can't even tell when it's exposed to air lol. My left breast was lifted so at least they are the same height. I often joke that's my breasts look Ike they belong to two different women.
