1st Mammo...Density in 1Breast...wtg on Core Biopsy Results
Hi Everyone. Your threads and posts are great. So informative and a great support for one another!
I went for my very first mammo 6/15 (@40yo), and they called and said it looked like I had a dense area in one breast. Went back for a 2nd one, focused on just that spot, which they followed with an US right after. The doctor said the area looked "funny", and scheduled a core biopsy, which I had on 7/3 (ow).
So while I sit here with my bruised boob waiting anxiously for the results, I'm wondering if anyone can share any experience with density in only one breast and what it turned out to be? I'm of course reading too much and self diagnosing so many things.
Thanks for sharing any info or stories, and best of luck to all of you!
MK

Hi MK, sorry you're here with breast health concerns. I don't have any experience with density in only one breast, but wanted to say I hope you get b9 results back soon!

I had extreme density in both breasts from my first mammo at age 25 for the next 40 years. Hopefully your results will be B-9, as mine were for 39 years.

Hi Ladies,
So radiologist called and my biopsy was B9! Awesome news.
I did just get a. Ore from my gyn though saying the biopsy showed a small spot of PASH and does want me to see a breast surgeon for a 2nd opinion and possibly an exiccisonal biopsy. She said though PASH is on cancerous it can grow? Haven't looked it up yet as I wanted to see what everyone knows about it. And then I was able to get the report of great results and this is what it says:
Mammory ducts ecstasia, adenosis with columnar cell change, columnar cell hyperplasia and microcalcifocations, focal usual ductal hyperplasia focal pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia
So I'm obviously going to be googling these all day anyone know anything about any of this!?

There is a forum on benign breast conditions that might have some useful threads on PASH. Good luck!

Well my saga continues. I just got a call from the radiologist (week after they called and said B9), that now the dr thinks the results are discordant with what she sees, and wants me to see a BS to have the area removed.
I already have an appt with a surgeon because of the PASH cells, but now this news a week later seems odd.
Anyone else ever get this type of delayed news?
I'm actually relieved that they are trying to be aggressive with checking me out. I think if they said it looks odd but let's see in 6 mos I would feel aggravated.
And I'd rather them get in there and take the area out to be 100% sure.
Just seems strange the way this is happening. The nurse said the radiologist feels something could be "hiding in the bushes" so to speak and that the biopsy just may have missed it.
Now I wait until 8/10 to see the surgeon.
