DCIS w/ single Masectomy 2015 - Micro-calcifications 2017

I was dx with DCIS grade 3 in 2015. It was multi-focal / 2 cm (total) dispersed. Showed up on the mammogram as micro-calcifications. I had a mastectomy and rads (due to the microscopic margins at the chest wall). The MRI at the time had my left breast completely clear as did a 2016 mammogram.

One year later my mammogram shows a small amount of micro calcification in the remaining breast with no discernible focal point.

Does anyone know what the follow-up for this will be in U.S. protocol? The radiologist wasn't worried. I am in a completely different country than my first dx and am unsure what to ask for. Another mammogram at 3 months? 6 months? Since my first BC case showed up as micro calcification I definitely want to follow-up.

MotherofFour, the person who seems to know the NCCN guidelines better than anyone is BarredOwl. You might want to PM her. I can tell you if it were me, I'd want a diagnostic workup - us and potentially mri. I also had multi-focal/multi-centric DCIS and 2 of my tumors were missed entirely until after my lx. My second opinion pathologist's report came in the day before my rads mapping appointment. He recommended I get an mri, based on the architectural pattern of my dcis and my age. The mri found 2 more areas that also turned out to be dcis in another quadrant entirely. You may end up having to have it biopsied if you mri the area, but that would give you definitive answers. So sorry you are going through this again! ((hugs))
