Positive Thinking after Radiation

Wench - Oh I love the picture of the butterfly. Butterflies have a special spiritual meaning for me which I'll share at some time. You husband sounds like mine lol. Sometimes you just have to let them figure things out on their own lol.
Heading to a family outing with my grandchildren. Moving to Michigan was the best decision we ever made. My Dx had reinforced my belief in enjoying each day as the gift it is. Love to all onthis special Memorial Day weekend.
-
Butterfly - Will ask my daughter to send me the photo (& hopefully post photo) of the Blue Morpho that landed on my BC boob when she was home in April and we went to the annual Butterfly Show at Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati. We all marveled at this, and felt it was a good sign. Would love to hear the spiritual meaning that butterflies have for you.
Lori - Thanks for the butterfly photo! Too funny about hubby thinking rain would fill the pool.
Happy holiday weekend to all.
-
Celia, I'd love to see your special oman butterfly.
The honeysuckle smells wonderful on this cloudy day!
Gentle healing hugs to All that may need one 🤗

My Butterfly Story
Butterflies hold a special spiritual place in my life in addition to symbolizing rebirth and renewal. When I was s little girl my grandmother called me her "little" butterfly. I adored her. I have a butterfly picture frame of the two of us. Butterflies show up at some of the most significant times in my life. When my mother was dying in hospice ( old age not cancer) her room was decorated with butterflies along with uplifting spiritual sayings and butterfly mobiles. I saw it as a sign that my mom would pass peacefully and she did. Years later while my granddaughter was playing in her wading pool I was thinking how I wished my grandmother and mother could be here. Almost instantly one beautiful butterfly fluttered by followed by another. I smiled to myself knowingly. I have many examples of these occcurences. Some say that our departed loved ones will try to "contact" us if only we stop and "listen" to the space between the silence. So here's to the butterflies in your life. Much love to all as we remember our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day.

What a beautiful remembrance Butterfly.
I seem to have butterflies, dragonflies and moths land on me a lot. I stepped out my patio door to chat with the raccoons last night and I had something land on my arm. In the dark and on bare skin! After knocking it off and doing the hee-bee-gee-bee dance I turned on the light to find this guy at my feet. I felt so bad for swatting it off, if I had known it wasn't a monster I would have let it sit as long as it needed to. It measured about 5" from wing tip to wing tip. Beautiful...

Another one tonight 😊

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.
Lovely photo!

Hi All,
I need some support. I was initially treated for my BC in another state. When I had my initial ultrasound and mammogram they showed me the suspicious "spot" on my ultrasound which turned out to be cancer. At that time they also showed me a clear circular "node" which they said I had for years and weren't concerned and would deal with this spot first. When I asked my warm and fuzzy breast surgeon about that node she commented rather sarcastically, "what about it?" I am now being treated in another state and had all my records sent here. I got a call 2 weeks ago to go immediately for a diagnostic ultrasound and mammogram instead of waiting until September. I asked if this was about the nodule at 10:00 and the PA said it depends which way you're looking at it. Another ridiculous answer. Anyway I had three years of my mammograms sent to this new breast surgeons office, which they finally received today. I asked that they compare all the films with the recent one from this year prior to my lumpectomy. I'm trying not to panic that the cancer has come back or the nodule has changed. Just need some emotional support as I'm finally healing emotionally and physically and terrified of another setback. Sorry this is so darn long
-
Not long at all, Butterfly. We're all here for you, thinking good thoughts. It might be that this surgeon wants to do his/her own tests at a lab s/he is familiar with.
Keep your chin up and keep us posted.
MJ
-
Thank you MJ will keep you posted.
-
Butterfly - Oh, sweetie, feeling for you. Hoping that new doc is just being thorough and you can say good riddance to the old, sarcastic doc. We are here for you and happy to bolster you emotionally. No apologies needed.
-
Butterfly, praying that the new doc is going over everything already done and getting new tests for his/her own peace of mind as well as yours. Please keep us posted. (((((Butterfly)))))

I love moths maybe because they are nocturnal like me. 😍

Thank you all for your kind words. After speaking with BC office the protocol is to have a new diagnostic mammagram and ultrasound of my BC breast. If it's normal I don't need to see them until November. I keep asking them about the nodule and was told it's not a concern. The order says abnormal but the scheduler said it's for insurance. I'm a worrier.
Moths are as "cool" as butterflies.
-
Butterfly....sorry you had such a bad scare. Good plan to switch doctors. It sounds like the new office is more supportive and upfront with answering your questions and explaining the situation. Hugs!
Here is a thought for today. "Guard well within yourself that treasure, kindness, know how to give without hesitation, how to lose without regret, how to acquire without meanness." Tom Ardent & George Sand

Hugs back Sunrise.
Thank you ALL for your kind words of support. We are kindred spirits.
Had a sleep over with my grandchildren and took them to the pool. Every day with them is a precious day. I am blessed.
Love and hugs
-
Butterfly, I'm sorry you had a really bad scare also. Praying your new doctor is a much better match for you.
I'm laying in bed listening to the storm raging outside my balcony doors. My garden is laughing and dancing but it's to dark for me to take a picture!
-
Thank you Lori. Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday.

There is a bird in the poplars—
It is the sun!
The leaves are little yellow fish
Swimming in the river.
The bird skims above them—
Day is on his wings.
Phoenix!
It is he that is making
The great gleam among the poplars.–William Carlos Williams (1883–1963)

Lovely Lori
-
Can you find Bob the stray cat that thinks I belong to him?
-
Yup this cat is right at home.
Great news today. My ultrasound and mammagram are negative! Yeah and double yeah! I am so grateful. They did say I have fluid around incision a seroma and to speak with my breast surgeon. Anyone have this? My tumor was 9mm and so far I don't have any indentation.
I would be lost without all of you for your support. Many hugs
-
That's the best news Butterfly! What a huge relief.
-
Yes! Thank you
-
Butterfly, yay! I love negative mammograms and ultrasounds! That is wonderful news!
I came across this poem and thought I would share it with you gals. So true as it's still light out at 9:30 pm here. I hope you enjoy it too.
In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?–Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–94)
Gentle healing hugs to everyone 🤗🤗

Beautiful poem Lori.
How are you all doing? I had a really sore lower back yesterday but I'm not going to blame the Arimidex. I've had lower back pain prior to these meds. Much better today. I'm noticing some new aches and pains however. Sending love and good wishes to all, Happy belated 4th of July,
-
Such a relief Butterfly to hear that your ultrasound and mammo were negative!! My first mammogram since my surgery is next week. I'll be nervous to go in for that and it's only on my good side.
Like the poem Lori!
Sorry I've been a stranger....but am just trying to get out there and enjoy summer! This evening is exciting....we have tornado warnings.....

Going for follow up with BS tomorrow morning. Actually, it is with his PA & she will then make ANOTHER appointment for me to see BS. This ticks me off as the BS only sees patients at the hospital's breast center and they upcharge another $98 on top of the doc charges each time you go there for an appointment. Any wonder our medical costs are high?
-
Celia, I'll be in your pocket for your appointment tomorrow. Praying all is well.
Butterfly, I've noticed my hips started to hurt more than usual but I've been doing a lot more walking and swimming. I'm not going to blame the Anastrozole on it at this time either.
No other side effects other than needing to go back to my 2 hour afternoon nap. My PCP has been working with me on my increased sort of depression. I'm trying to make sure I'm not confusing depression with chemobrain. I'm getting to where I don't want to do much more each week. Who knows, maybe the BC is finally catching up with me emotionally and I just can't tell the difference?
ILSunruse, we'll be in the Peoria area on the weekend of Aug 5, any chance we can meet up then? I'd love to get together with you!
How is everyone else doing out there? Gentle healing hugs to All
-
Hi All,
My friend flew in this week for a surprise visit. So been busy this having fun. I really needed this.
Miss you all.
Sending good thoughts Celia Let us know how it goes with your appointment.
Lori if there's anything I can do to help please let me know. You've always been am inspiration to me so if you're feeling low I'm so sorry.
We're all here for you.
60+ days on Arimidex and having aches and pains but it's manageable. I'm keeping up with yoga for flexibility. Need to get to gym in a little more for weights and tread mill.
Love and hugs all!
