Swollen lymph nodes normal post rads?

I felt a swollen lymph node in the fatty tissue of my radiated breast about six months after completing rads, it was ultrasounded and radiologist said it looked normal. It is still there 13 months post rads and feels slightly bigger. I now have a new swollen lymph node halfway between radiated breast and clavicle. MO said it feels like it's on the chest wall and movable, so I shouldn't worry. How many of you have had multiple swollen lymph nodes that were not cancerous after treatment?

    Have you been to see a certified Lymphadema PT? I have truncal & breast LE so it was important for me to be trained with MLD techniques. I do swell.

    That said, I discovered a swollen lymph node up by my collar bone 2 years after a double mastectomy. I insisted on an immediate ultrasound & then an ULS biopsy. Then a PET/CT to follow up. Unfortunately it was a local recurrence so I started all over. I hope yours is B9, but I would push for scans at least if it's still there after 3 weeks.

    Thanks for responding Minus!! I haven't been to a lymphedema specialist. Just started with the chest swelling about two months ago. I have an appointment with RO next month and will push for testing if it's still there. So you never felt any swollen lymph nodes that was just due to lymphedema? I'm so sorry about your recurrence. That's something how you had mastectomy and still had recurrence. I guess there's nothing we can do if some of it escapes and hides out before surgery, it just sucks!!

    Loving - oh yes, I have LE 'flares' and swelling off & on. I make an appointment with my LE/PT for a tune up. Below ss a great site that a number of BCO members were instrumental in launching.
