Ive had burning pain in my left upper breast quadrant radiating into my armpit for 6+ months. After it started getting severe in my nipple and keeping me up I night, I made an appt with my Ob/gyn, 4 days later we were at the breast center for an US. Radiologist said he found 2 pea size cysts, benign, and completely unrelated to my pain and to follow up in 6 months. I am waiting to hear from my Ob/gyn as well as the breast surgeon if they agree with the results.

If so, I have no answer for the pain, tenderness, and burning and not sure how to pursue further if the docs say there is no concern.

mommykt, there is a radiologist who posts on these forums and he has said that breast pain was the number one reason for referrals for imaging at his center, and that the cause is frequently not found. It is always a good idea to have new or concerning breast symptoms checked out (as you did), but it may turn out that your ob/gyn and bs agree. If so, you may want to ask what their recommendation(s) are to address your pain. hoping you get b9 results (and answers to your questions) soon!

this just reminded me - 30 years ago I had pain all the time. I had fibercystic breasts. i quit drinking coffee & caffeine and the pain subsided except some residual pain during my periods. It was hard to give up coffee but really worth it.

Fortunately, I dont consume any caffeine aside from the occasional tea when we are out to dinner about once every week or 2. I have been doing vitamins and supplements for several years as well, including the evening primrose by ob suggested recently.
