Pregnant and my mom has cancer.
Im currently 36 weeks pregnant and 2 weeks ago I found out my mom has stage 2b triple negative breast cancer. I am completely devastated in a time when I should be happily anticipating my baby girls arrival. I am afraid to louse my mother I dont know what i would do without her. Shes my best friend and we have a very close relationship. She starts chemo next week and i dont know how im going to help my mom through this process and also take care of my new born. Will my mom survive this? Will the cancer come back? How long will have my mom for? Those are the questions always on my mind. I spend my days googling for answers and I have not found any 10+ year suvivors and that is devastating to me.

DO NOT go on google anymore. You will find outdated information and many things that just aren't true. You can research on this safe site. Or try NCI or a large center like Mayo Clinic.
Your Mom is only Stage 2. We have women on these threads who are Stage IV and are 10+ years out. It's true there is not a 'cure', but many women remain NED (no evidence of disease) for 25 -30 years. Dial back your anxiety so you can support your Mom. She needs you to be level-headed at this point. And so does your growing baby.

Is there is any triple negative long term survivors out there?

Tanval15 - I had a large tumor and was diagnosed almost 7 years ago. I'm doing great! I totally understand your fear. You will begin to feel a little more in control once she begins treatment and learn more. I second what Minustwo said. Stay away from google. We are not statistics. Stage 3B is very survivable. Take care of yourself so your mom doesn't have to worry about you and your soon-to-be new addition. It will get easier. In the meantime, just be there for your mom.
Hugs,
Kathy

Hello Tanval15,
I am just popping in to try to reassure you. Your mum is going to be fine and you need to be calm in order to support her during her cancer journey. You need to be calm for yourself and your baby.
I was diagnosed over twelve years ago with a large 6+ cms tumour with triple negative receptors. I had six months of chemotherapy, a mastectomy of the right breast and three weeks of radiotherapy. I was fine with all the treatment. I have never had any recurrence in the past twelve years and feel very healthy. Be positive and strong for your mum.
Sending you very best wishes from the UK.
Sylvia.
You will find lots of information on the thread I started nearly seven years ago, Calling all triple negative breast cancer patients in the UK. You can post here if you wish. We have posts from women from different countries, including strong posters from the US.
Fond thoughts.

I am not triple negative but I did find out I had bc, three days before my daughter announced her pregnancy. That was six years ago. I also walked my younger daughter down the aisle and she now has a 15 month old baby. All of this happiness and I'm stage IV!
There is no cure, no one can predict recurrance or life expectancy. Your pregnancy is probably a source of great happiness to your mom, and a new grandbaby will be a great positive factor as she goes through treatment. Yes, it may be rough, but that baby will bring great joy. Focus on today and be pragmatic but hopeful. Good wishes to your mom, yourself and that new baby.
