hi all,

i am on lupron and i am having bad bone pains. will be on arimidex after bmx next week. the pain is bad and im thinking of oophorectomy instead. i am 45 years old with kids. if removing my ovaries help with the pain i will gladly do it. anyone here who has had their ovaries removed? my ob gyne said if i have my ovaries removed i will get the same symptom, is this true? i feel like i am 100 years old with arthritis. going up or down the stairs hurts my knees and standing up from a sitting position hurts too. walking helps but then the pain comes back again.

I had my ovaries and uterus removed before starting anti hormonal therapy. I take Tamoxifen and am doing great. I suspected that Lupron/Zoladex would cause body aches because it shuts down ovarian function. I am so happy that I had my surgery and feel really, really, good.

wondering the same thing. Lupron or Oopherectomy? Any other people who already tried Lurpn or Oopherectomy? How do you feel? Which one is the better choice?

the pain is due to no estrogen. You get it on tamoxifen too. I had ovaries and everything else baby making related removed in Nov. and started letrozole. I also take curcumin for the pain which helps a lot. Now I’m just stiff in the mornings and after flexing my hands walking to the bathroom from the bed I’m pretty good to go. It’s nice not to have to worry about periods and shots.
