Waiting On Biopsy Results

edited July 2017 in Waiting for Test Results

So, I had and ultrasound guided biopsy done on the Tuesday the 27th of June. The radiologist told me that he didn't think the lump was cancer and the results should be ready Thursday. I waited and called today to get the results and was told they weren't ready yet. Now I'm worried that they aren't ready because they needed to do additional testing or that something is wrong since it wasn't ready when expected. Is this a valid concern or am I just getting worked up for nothing?

It probably just means the path lab is busy or that people took off for a lonf weekend.

You wouldn't have to keep explaining background if you asked your questions in your existing thread(s

Thank you. I didn't know about whether or not I should start a new thread.

Don't start new threads. Even when you get your diagnosis - don't start another thread.

We're all willing to answer, but it's a chore to go back & read a bunch of previous threads that we've already answered, along with other people who took the time to answer.

As Melissa says, labs are no doubt backed up because so many people took a 5 day weekend. You just had your tests on Tuesday. So it's only been 3 business days (Wed/Thurs/Fri). Many people have to wait two weeks. Yes, the wait is hard. Go to the movies, play tennis, dive into a good book. Distract yourself.

You should be calling your doctor anyway on Monday. That's where the results will go. They can advocate for you.

Thank you...once again, I didn't know about starting new threads, so I apologize.

Thanks to everyone for their support while I waited and worried. It was a fibroadenoma. I feel better. Best wishes to all of you!
