Scalp Pain

On Friday I had my 8th session of Taxol and still have some hair, but have lost a ton of it. I normally have very thick healthy hair and a ton of it, but it is very thin now and not very healthy right now, however many have said my hair looks good and have joked it looks like the average persons. I am thankful for maintaining what hair I do have, but I have spots on my head that are very tender and feel a little swollen, almost like pimples or bug bites, but no redness. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is this part of the hair loss process?

I had number 8 last week. I'm like you. I have too much hair to shave, but not enough to look good. My scalp was very tender a couple treatments ago. I thought it was going to all fall out. It did not, but continues to shed. The tenderness is much better now. Hopefully yours goes away soon.

Because my head had those bumps & also was itching - I used head & shoulders with almond oil. Worked great.

KB870, did that shampoo dry out your hair? Did you let your hair fall out completely or did you shave your head?

MinusTwo, Head & Shoulders comes with almond oil or did you add some?

Helen - It actually comes in a formula with Almond Oil included.
