    So sorry, stagefree :-( Why don't you check again HER2 ? Maybe it has changed and you need something different.

    I suppose you are under a lot of stress right now. Be strong, you will find something that will kill c cells.

    Ebru, I wish I had some words of wisdom to offer to you or even a magic wand that would heal your body and ease you mind. You are always so helpful to all of us here and willing to share your experiences and advice with us. Unfortunately, I have no superhuman powers. Instead, I send you ((hugs)), prayers, and hopes that your doctors will find the answers you need and deserve. It must be discouraging to go through three treatments in such a short time, but you remain strong through all of this. Does your doctor feel that you might respond to your current treatment if you give it more time to be effective? Is your MO planning any additional tests to determine what treatment might be best for your? Are their any clinical trials available if the current treatment does fail? One last comment, you are correct that you did not rant, but please feel free to rant here any time you want.

    Oh Ebru, everything Lynne says and more. You are always such a positive forceful us. What a emotional slam that is. I hope they switch you to something more effective quickly. I'm glad you are seeing mO right away. You have a summer house to visit. Thinking of you.

    Ebru, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm sorta in the same boat with my TM's going up even on chemo. I pray that they find something to stop it for you. It becomes so discouraging to have chemo and it seems nothing is phasing it. Hopefully it will kick in soon and turn things back around for you. Try to enjoy the moment.

    Ebru,

    Oh I hate to think of you being anxious about those blasted markers and your next treatment plan. And, I fear that your departure to the Sea will be delayed. I always love to think of you there, eating those lovely breakfasts, enjoying the clean air.

    Your MO needs to find your next magic drug; one that keeps you well for as long as Xeloda did.

    Ebru, I am very sorry to hear your news. Everyone is hoping that things will improve for you, and if you do not mind, here are some suggestions.

    First, if your tummy is enlarged and there are no ascites, you may have some sort of obstruction. Please discuss this (and any other) possibility with your doctor, and if necessary seek a second opinion as to what is causing the swelling and what tests might help to identify the issue. This would be of great importance.

    Secondly, as kiss77 indicated, sometimes the pathology of the cancer may change, so if you might be able to have an area biopsied, that may help determine your next treatment (i.e. if an area is found to be HER2+, then you would be a candidate for a new category of therapies).

    Third, it may be possible that the rise in TMs are indicative of dead cancer cells if the therapy is working. TMs do not distinguish between live and dead cancer cells, and sometimes there is an initial rise if a therapy works. That said, I'm not sure about the timing of your therapies and the rise of the TMs, so this may not truly apply to the situation.

    I hope your meeting goes well, and please remember we are thinking of you!

    Ah Ebru, just blah. More blah. Many hugs to you and I hope they can find something that will help.

    Did I mention hugs? Have a kiss or two as well.

    Argh! This is the part that we all hate. I hope your doctor has a new plan. Sending you healing hugs!

    Thinking of you, Ebru. Taxotere can cause the tumors to shed cancer cells. These cells are then in a more hostile environment in your bloodstream. The dead ones give the immune system clues to recognize the live ones. It sounds scary but maybe this was what your doctor had planned. Smoke them out and train the immune system or kill them with something else. Hang in there.

    yet, my bodiliy functions are ok still, thank God.

    Maybe things turn around soon. Hope never dies, right ;
