DeAnn,
It's good that you found us here. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone.
A breast cancer diagnosis and all of its effects is incredibly hard. Everyone, men and women, on these boards has been where you are at some time.
One question I do have for you is are you taking adjuvant hormone therapy? That treatment can powerfully effect mood and must be taken into consideration by your oncologist if it is having particularly damaging effects on your mental health.
Just before my diagnosis I felt I needed a therapist; I don't think it was coincidental. She has provided emotional support and healing. If you aren't already doing so, consider working with someone.
With you.

deann,
Well that's good to know; it isn't medication. Does your health insurance cover mental health needs?

deann, I agree with Falconer, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! There are so many of us that have been through similar circumstances. We do understand how difficult it can be to find our new "normal". It sounds as if you're not quite finished with your reconstruction surgeries, so it makes sense that you're still not comfortable with your new body. I also wonder if you have access to mental health support, either a therapist in private practice, at the hospital or someone at your local cancer support center. I think we all need someone to support us when we're struggling. We are here for you, but it might be nice to have someone local who you can meet with as well. What do you think?
