Need advise, Enlarged thyroid and CA15levels went up

I know there is a thread on here about this issue but can not find it .

I feel like here we go again, This BC nightmare will not end

Thyroid has lit up on two separate Pet scan, did a thyroid scan and it shows being enlarged. Just found out today that my tumor marker test CA15 went up from 31 in Jan to 49 in April ( finished Chemo 3-20-17)..........Im not sure what to think of all this . Has anyone out there had tumor marker test go up and it not be anything . If my thyroid turns out to be cancer is it possible its from the BC or totally separate

I might add the update value on both scans was very low but enough for them to report on . I have a apt with a ENT Dr next week and my Ony told me that if the ENT would not do a biopsy on Thyroid then he would refer me to a Dr at Vanderbilt as I think the increase in the CA15 has him worried .

Please I need any advise , experience you all can give me on this .

    Did he say the increase has him worried or are you guessing at what he is thinking?

    Apparently if everyone lives long enough they will develop thyroid nodules and everyone would have them if autopsied.

    I had one that was "suspicious for neoplasm" on ultrasound so had a biopsy and that showed "suspicious for neoplasm" so had to have that half of thyroid surgically removed. Pathology showed it to be benign which I was told is the case for most of them.

    I am glad you are following up but try to not worry. Easier said than done.

    Wrenn, thanks for the reply, Dr said because of the increase in the CA-15 he would push for the biopsy.

    His words were we have to know what is going on . Before the tumor markers went up and I had the thyroid scan confirming it was enlarged , he was not concerned about it saying it was not uncommon for the thyroid to lite up on a Pet scan

    So Yes Im stressed as hell all over again ........
