    Thank you HeidiHill - this country is trying to keep a dignified chin up, even with the idiot US monster's constant tweeting absolute crap about our cool-headed London mayor. Fully understand why you took a pass on acupuncture and cupping, well, from what Ruth put up, I'd pass on that too. Falconer, thanks beauty and hope all is moving smoothly, with you relaxing and it will loosen soon; took me 3 week to stand straight'ish. Love the pink tee's on WWW on a Sunday walk for mammos, etc.. photo Ruth and what a cool, huge complex, and like your photos too Claire.

    I'm working mucho with many instructors home on term break with young children, 5 classes today, three done at three different locations, two to go tonight and at the same gym.

    Ruth - that center looks beautiful! And within walking distance to you too. I bet you can't wait till it's done. Lilac - I am so sorry again about London, and apologies from this side of the Atlantic for those idiotic tweets. Falconer - congrats on the almost standing upright! After my DIEP I felt like one of those evolution pictures as I gradually straightened up.

    Did 10 minutes on the elliptical yesterday, along with a 40 minute run on the treadmill. I have a 5K coming up this weekend - the first one since long before surgery. I took a 3rd place age medal in this race last year, so I have a position to defend!

    Just got back from a whitewater rafting trip with the Rec Seniors travel program. We started on the Shenandoah River, then made our way down to Harper's Ferry where it meets with the Potomac, then went down the Potomac for a while. Got a great view of the town of Harper's Ferry from the water, along with the three states that meet there (MD, WV, and VA). We also saw bald eagles and great blue heron among other birds. I'd never done whitewater rafting before - we did Class I, II, and III rapids. Wow is that a workout - my quads are sore from bracing, and my whole upper body is feeling the paddling. But I would do it again in a heartbeat - it was really fun!

    Lol, Nats, so true so true. I think my kids may have done the whitewater circuit you described. They went to camp for years in the Catoctin Mtns. Good luck in the 5k; be gentle on your knee even if it means defending your title!

    Love Harper's Ferry. Been there several times as I am a Cvil War buff. Beautiful area in our country.

    POUND with my favorite teacher. I am now watering flowers & the lawn like crazy (big water bill ahead ). I live in a split level house, so that requires lots of running up & down the stairs.

    Two hours of sweep. mop, vacuum and sculpt. Volunteered at local Food Pantry today.

    Day consisted of doing laundry, taking it out to the line to dry. Bringing it in when it was done and folding it.

    Morning walk delayed more than an hour this morning.

    As I was getting dressed, husband came into dressing area, dripping blood. He had been trimming the hedges around the front and side of the house & somehow cut himself with the electric cutter. We cleaned the area and I could see he had a deep cut at the first joint of his middle finger and a large slice taken off his index finger. I wanted to take him to Urgent Care, but he refused. We staunched the bleeding long enough to get a bandage on and I made him rest in his recliner. Again I suggested having a doctor look at it, but he just told me to go for my walk. I had my phone and was only going to be five blocks away, plus our son was still at home, so I left. He was still in the chair when I got back and when I checked the bandage, it was clean. He wanted to finish the hedges. I didn't like the idea, but I went out with him. I wanted to cut them myself-I've never done it before, and he could have told me what to do-but he insisted on doing it himself. It took about an hour, then he wanted to pick peas. We finally got back into the house around noon. I fixed his lunch (he is right - handed and he cut the fingers on the right hand) and started sorting laundry to get a wash going. He went to take a shower.

    He was in the bedroom a long time, so I went to check on him. He was bent over the sink, blood everywhere. He had taken off the bandage to "look at the cut " and opened it up again. This was the last straw. This wound was bad and I don't have the skills to take care of something that is bleeding this much. I also do not have a stomach for something like this. Anyway, I told him he had no voice in the matter and I took him to Urgent Care. They cleaned the wounds and wrapped them better than I ever could-they immobilized his middle finger so he won't open the cut- and gave him a tetanus shot. They said it should heal fairly well in about a week and to follow up with his PCP. I brought him home, gave him some Tylenol and put him back in his recliner. He slept about three hours and woke feeling pretty good.

    I need him healthy. We leave for a quick trip to the Hill Country next week for our anniversary.

    Oh my goodness, Velvet! I am queasy just reading about it.

    MEN!! Try to keep him in one piece until you've had a chance to celebrate your anniversary anyway!

    Wow Velvet what an ordeal, I'm glad he's okay that sounds nasty, we all went to the hill country when we had our annual meet up in San Antonio last year, it was beautiful there, have a very Happy Anniversary. Nats your trip sounds very exciting, and loved the picture if you andnSweet, glad you were able to get together. Heidi one of my instructors is also a massage therapist specializing in athletes and she does cupping, she cupped another instructor who was having hamstring problems and yikes she had massive circle bruises down the sides of her legs although she said that it really worked for her I don't think it would be advisable with lympademia. LB so sad about what happened in London, you really have your hands full with all those classes.

    Tonight was my trifecta - did Sprint and CX Works at one gym, then Body Flow at another.

    Falconer, how is today? Velvet, I can so relate. My DH, in 2014 stuck his hand in the blade (to clear debris blocking forgetting to switch blade off -thought he had switched off) of his tractor mower (three months after active throat cancer tx, chemo brain for sure!) and had to have micro surgery on his left index finger. It did heal quick and I hope your anniversary trip goes forth and that today is calmer. Cheryl, LM with be out here in Kent for Q3 this weekend for up coming new release (booked both Flow on Sat/Sun). I know women who teach 20 - 25 hours a week, (much younger me) and those that did in the past; burned out by early 40's with numerous chronic injuries. If you don't become a PT by mid-30's (stop teaching so many group fitness classes) that is where you are headed. Well, huge voting upset here in the UK, son voted for 1st. time (made is mother proud thankfully, a non-Tory) and a wild, bumpy ride from here on, until a majority. The £ has taken a tumble. Depending on who is the majority, there is a possibility for funding for cancer exercise (via NHS - big stretch, yet there are those in the main working on that), in the future..I sure hope so. The fundraiser for Pink Ribbon Pilates on July 15th, has been slow on the ticket uptake. Feedback is that it's too samey-samey, now in it's fourth year (5 classes, starting with yoga, fascinating body language expert talk, singing for health, Pilates and meditation sound bath, 1 body treatment out of these three, reiki, indian head massage or reflexology and delicious vegetarian lunch + cake & tea - all for £50). I'm writing a grant proposal to submit by August, that Macmillan Cancer Support funds, so perhaps next year we can take a break on fundraising. It's exhausting for a tiny, grassroots charity like this...in order for this community class to remain free for it's breast cancer participants. If we could at least get a free room, well, if we were in London we could (insert big sigh). Must get busy now and write-up a lesson plan for my Pilates class at 1pm, the most of whom are over 70; I love these amazing,flexible, ladies!

    No walk this morning. Decided to do mega-laundry.

    Husband's fingers look okay. He insisted on mowing, so I kept an eye on him from the kitchen window and laundry room. I don't know why he can't let our son help out. P will be home from work in 30 minutes. I know he'd gladly do the mowing. Excuse is he has to study...I know that, but he finds time to help me when I need it. I think dad is just having a hard time accepting that he may have limitations! Oh well.

    Need to go into town this afternoon to pick up meds. I'll take a few extra minutes to walk before I come home.

    One step at a timer, Falconer!

    Did a 45 minute toning DVD this morning. DS is out of town for the day so picked up the grand-puppy & took her for a nice, long dog walk. She is now sitting on my arm, so I'm typing one-handed.

    Velvet Poppy. . .glad your dh's fingers are okay. Men can be stubborn can't they?

    Falconer. . .cool bridge. Walking is good.

    Walked nearly 5 miles today, mostly on the dreadmill. Plus did some arm weights. I am so excited to finally be able to lift some weights again, and I am finally getting my ROM back. First time in 2.5 years since BMX.

    I didn't walk again this morning. Didn't fall asleep until after 5 am, so my husband let me sleep until 8:00. Sometimes I just can't turn off my brain at night. Husband's C-Pap sometimes bothers me,too. I think it was a little of both last night.

    If I don't get out to walk by 7:30, I don't bother.

    I am very structured when it comes to my household chores and do not like to have my schedule interrupted. I had to be this way when I was working, but I don't really need to now, so I am trying to be more flexible, but habits are hard to make and break. Didn't finish the laundry yesterday, so am finishing it today. Also scrubbed main bathroom this morning. I don't want to come home after a nice trip to a house that needs cleaning and dirty laundry.

    Got back yesterday from a trip to DC - helped our son move from Atlantic City to DC. Nice finally that he and his wife get to live together in the same town! My husband helped him with some household projects, and I was able to get some time in with my daughter that lives nearby in Maryland. On the way home we stopped in Pennsylvania and visited with my niece who is recovering from BC. I hadn't been to her home in nearly 15 years, as they really are out of the way, but we had a nice visit with them. Now I am tackling all the laundry and trying to catch up with the yard stuff. Beautiful day here, hope to get a nice walk in. Really need to start back to regular exercise at the gym, summer clothes are very revealing! Enjoy your weekend everyone.

    Yesterday I walked 20 minutes. Today it is hot again. I took my dog to the nature trail and even he turned around after a bit resulting in a 27 minute walk. Then I came home and went for a 30 minute bike ride instead.

    I have been lurking. Reading post while I wait in the car rider lane to pick my grandson up from school. He has been living with us basically since my surgery. It was alot for me to handle but he's a good kid. I have to get up early to take him to school. That means I have to get my girl up and take her with me. ( my girl is my multiply handicapped child) between dropping him off and picking him up my day seem to lose 2 hours! Anyway...SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER! I hope to be more active with my post. I will start with....I had the cupping done. It felt so good! I have it done once a week by a PT who is a certified lymphedema specialist. It helped my cording and my scar from surgery is so smooth. It also helped reduce the scar tissue. You need to be 6 weeks out from radiation to prevent any of the SE. I had no SE from radiation other than my skin was dark and I did get itchy for a few days. I actually had the light cupping 4 weeks after radiation. When the cupping is done I barely turn red. I wish I could do it at home! Lol that's how good it feels!

    I'm averaging 11 miles a day. Doing a few free weights and lots of therapy band. Some stretching with a half foam roller.

    I am terrible at remembering names but I loved all the pictures! Hope all are healing!

    I am back from an easy and fun 60 mile ride. Easy, because I did the Centennial Trail, and not the "take your life in your hands" event that went past my house. The great news is that I am fit enough to be only mildly tired. And it was a lot less painful sitting on guess what?

    Now, I am convinced that I will be just fine with the Big Ride coming up in a little over a month.

    Training really does work!!!

    My email problem turned out to be a wonky hard drive, so my new laptop comes Tuesday. I am using my work laptop right now, so not totally cut off. I went for smaller and lighter this time and chose a Dell as the screen has much better resolution than the HP which has a nicer cover. (The screen is what I look at, and need to do work.)

    With the dentist and a new crown, an expensive week. But fortunately got to both before they wreaked major havoc on my life. (Tooth would have split and broken; all my files on the hard drive are just fine as well as backed up.) - Claire

    30 minutes of toning, a little walk, a couple hours of yard work & now I am gearing up to clean the house......yuck!

    Walked a mile and a half at the pavilion this morning. Finished laundry and scrubbed master bath. Folded & put away all of the clean laundry.

    Tomorrow I will clean the utility room and dust a little.

    I will enjoy our trip more knowing I won't be coming home to a house that needs cleaning and piles of dirty clothes.

    Did my 5k Saturday, but just missed medaling, coming in 4th in my age group. It was HOT - about 80 - so I was dragging by the end. I do not do well in the heat, especially since I went back on letrozole.But I finished. Off to my exercise class in a nice cool air conditioned room!

    Ruth, that about sums up my weight training of late! Got a new exercise book that I've read, but still haven't done any exercises. I did get a nice walk in Saturday around my neighborhood until the bugs chased me home. Yesterday we took the boat out for the first time this year, did a little clamming, but it was pretty windy so I let my DH get wet while I tried to stay out of the wind by wrapping in towels. Trying to get the pool going, still a little on the green side so more chemicals today. We waited to open this year because last year the caterpillars were so bad we would get hundreds in the skimmer. This year they are not as bad, and with warm temperatures predicted again today, I wish the pool was ready.

    Came back from DC to discover that the nesting bluebirds are no longer nesting, and a warbling vireo family has taken up residence in their box. Not sure if the vireos hijacked the box or what, but sad to have my bluebirds gone.
