Love your new look Ebru. All these ladies rock. Prayers for each of you. Enjoy the moment.

I'm making plans for the weekend.ย We're expecting great weather here in the upper Midwest.ย I'm a "silver lining" kind of a gal, so my plans include a few long, country drives with the car windows down and the sunroof open.ย Something I never would have done when I had hair.ย (curly hair + wind = disaster!)ย Why not join me, my follicle-ly challenged companions?ย Roll down those windows and enjoy a tangle-free breeze.ย Open that sunroof and tan where you've never tanned before.ย Revel in the anonymity that the inside of your car can bring.ย Come on ladies.ย Let's make some lemonade out of these lemons and enjoy the summer warmth for all its worth.

hi & thanks all!
Btw ฤฑ started a baldie spa program.. self-planned, each day I use special organic olive etc soap bar (not shampoo/liquid sopa) preps, stimulating my entire face scalp and neck. This is day 3, waited for first results to comment....
great!
How I didn't think of this earlier, I blame my chemo brain.
As we lose most hair and shave the rest, the follicles itch, you know.. not all hair have to fall out yet they need atention.
I had happened to learn a small routine of massaging previously, works wonders with smooth soap bubbly cotton gloves. Hands are tender, don't suggest touch skin too much gloveless.
I prefer nondeodoranted, plain old fashioned olive based white soap bars.... great so far. My headheaches, dizziness have improved as well.
This is just the head stuff gals
wait for more!
Hugs

Here's a pic of my wig (before, left and after, right). I like it but don't wear it, it doesn't fit well behind my ears and falls into my face where I can't see, it got so annoying the first day, I just decided to go bald everywhere. I have some favorite short haircuts picked out when enough grows back
-
dear ฤฐllimae, you have a beautiful face, with or without wig..
And of course the shape of the scalp is a definite advantege.
DH says bald men don't wear scarf why should you, I guess he is right
-
thanks stagefree! My DH said I looked hot and badass without hair. We have good men
And a breeze feels very nice!
-
I was born without hair, and continued to sport a bald head for two full years after that. The first time I lost my hair, my mother sent me a picture of me at about age 1 with the caption, "At least you have a nicely shaped head." Most supportive thing she has done, now that I think about it.
Oddly, I lost a bunch more hair this weekend. This is all pretty darn random.
Illimae, I agree with stagefree. You are rocking the look!

Here's my Uncle Fester look! (I was having too much fun being silly at work that day)

Made a personalized emoji, bald!

ha ha! That's super awesome:))

So, I've seen a lot of discussion in other threads lately about how the general public thinks treatment is so easy and pharm/hospital commercials portray pretty, happy, healthy looking cancer patients. We all know that this is not real for most people but I think we contribute to the misconception. Now, I'm not anti-wig but maybe if we all went bald in public more often the perception might begin to change. Just a thought.
-
Haven't worn a wig yet! But, I am now looking like a downy duckling and I can just FEEL people wanting to rub my head.
-
Susan,
I --for one-- can't wait. Goochy, goochy!
-
Lol ladies, I'm a month 1/2 post chemo and getting fuzzy myself.
-
5 years later and my hair is horrible big bald spots everywhere and I wear a wig. Anyone's hair grew back after 5 years?
-
PinkGirl: have you been on any other treatments for the last 5 years?
-
Dear Pinkgirl, I've been mostly on Xeloda keeping hair most of the time till now. And lost hair to the same chemo. So can't really give an exact response to your Question.
Illimae, fuzzy is good.. a start! Waiting for new photos.
Tonight was shavetime as my so little left fuzz grew to 1cm, a dull black (I am normally blonde) duckling looking thing ?! Dad did it, he was so affectionate, merely touching the shaver.. I felt his sad heart, he always adored my golden hair.. well.. now I look properly "groomed"
))

Well, it seems to be coming back brunette so far but I'll take it. My eyelashes are growing back like crazy but my brows need a bit more time.
-
definitely faster than I expected. Enjoy!.
Mom used to press garlic juice (yuck!) and mask her head for faster hair growth.. she is like a male lion now ha ha.. not sure if it's the garlic or not.
Suggest you put some almฤฑnd oil in your mascara, definitely works on lashes / brows .. maybe you already know.

looks like being a baldie is the cool thing to do
-
definitely!
In fact, I've developed a positive mood about it. Had a daily makeup even yesterday along with my hand/feet spa treatment.
This is after shaving last week! Still so little hair.. so will shave again soon.
-
Ebru, you look beautiful. Your eyes are gorgeous, you do a great job with your makeup. Will you give me a lesson? Lifting you up in prayer. Enjoy the moment, don't let the big C rob you of that.

Kandy,
It was actually my makeup artist friend's work this time.
She worked with the thinnest liquid eyeliner and made 3 layers, slowly thickening. Needs a bit practice yet definitely worth it.
My eyebrow pencil is MAC. No 02, definitely the most natural looking one so far.. after appliying black eye pencil in the lids, she finished with a layer of green eyeliner for a bit of light.
Thanks for the compliment btw. As I cannot use anything on my face including blusher -too allergic to all with chemo- my total concentration is on my eyes. You might have noticed the summer tone base applied on the upper lids, that gave the warm look.
Weird, I got to excel in makeup after MBC. Was never a fan of much makeup before.. life pushes us to experience different stuff. So make the best of it and enjoy!
Hugs

I agree with Kandy. You look beautiful and also love your eye makeup. I just got inspired to wear some eyeliner to go with my lipstick!
-
Just want you to know that as I was scrolling down, and saw your (this) post, I started smiling. Anticipating your posts makes me smile!
Thanks for that.

I am sporting a Don King look myself as its growing out. It's fluffy and came back very curly. Salt and pepper and I used to have chestnut brown long longhair. Makes me upset. But you guys really are beautiful and amazing, such strength and great attitudes. Strong beautiful ladies. ~M~
Waving hi to Mae!
