Anyone go to NOLA and NOT use their hospital due to insurance?

Apparently, most insurances in California (where I am) and Michigan don't cover the NOLA docs' dedicated hospital. Some of their surgeons have surgical privileges at other hospitals, like at St. Tammany. I'm wondering if anyone has gone through with these procedures at these other hospitals. How did it go? What was the experience like? It just sounds like their dedicated hospital is so amazing and I can't help but think it has something to do with their low infection rate.

Also, if there are any ladies local to New Orleans, how are St. Tammany and other area hospitals viewed. Are they top notch?

Thank you!

The hospitsl itself is out of network for almost everyone. Do you have out of network benefits? You can contact the Center and they can give you your total cost for the centers plastic surgeons and hospital. Then you can decide.

There is also a Nola facebook group. There are most likely women there who can answer your questions. I think the nola docs may also work at Ochsner.

If you are interested in joining the group p.m. me and I will try to arrange your being added.

Hi besa. There are special restrictions with CA and MI. My insurance will cover the docs thankfully, but not their hospital. If I went there, I'd be on the hook for about $26k. The center was the one who told me, after they'd contacted my insurance. Other local hospitals are covered normally as out of network. That's why I am trying to find some info on the other hospitals.

    I'll pm you. Thanks!

I just want to check in to see if anyone has had these flap surgeries with the NOLA docs at a different hospital. I'm not feeling great about the prospect, and I'd love to hear from someone who had to go somewhere else as well. Thank you!
