I was talking to my wife the other day about how alone you feel when the whole process starts. As you go through you start to come across more and more survivors or stories of them. While pink ribbons have there place (even though we hate the waste of money), I thought something we could do is just get a magnet for our car that says "Survivor". I think even more important at this point than spreading awareness is spreading hope and encouragement. The men and women at the start of this process need to know there is another side. The doctors tell you one thing but without going through it, you don't really understand. Being the husband, even I don't fully get it. I was just thinking how nice it would have been to be sitting in traffic during my wive's first treatments to see "Survivor" on a bunch of cars. It would have taken the edge off. I encourage anyone reading this to do something similar. Most people don't realize how many survivors are all around us.

Except Tom, there is no cure for breast cancer. I may be NED (no evidence of disease) but I will not be a survivor until I die of something else. Everyone has to find their own way but I don't choose to use that term. Hope your wife's treatments continue to go well.
