Went to church today as it was the last service for the pastor who has been at the church since hubby and I started going there. He is retired from being a pastor as of today. Several times I teared up and hubby shed a few tears. Going to be strange going there and not seeing him or his wife anymore. They were very good to me while I went through the cancer crap.

Came home and did a few chores and then plunked Jackson in the kitchen sink for Mommy and Puppers Time aka around here as Bath Time. He is such a good boy when it comes to his baths. He drenched me as he shook the water from his fur. Poor boy looked like a Trash Panda who got caught in a downpour.

Hi, Nettie, the Grands look grand...............zero on my end, though DS did get married.

Wenchie, would you be so kind as to post your garden pics here too :) Did that silly raccoon come back for a box sitting session?

LOverly, countdown is getting close :) 6 days, I'd be apoplectic fussing. I pretty well dislike traveling.

Mags, you should be back from your trip. I'm supposed to find out about your Ritalin dose. Amount and dosing schedule.

Feline, such a devilish cutie lol

M0mmy, I had my Mom's black lab buddy for a few years. If he heard water running he'd head for the bathtub. I don't know how many times I had to get him out of the tub! I'd hear "GRAMMMY!!!!" And I knew he jumped in the tub with my GrandAngels!

Sassy, hoping your headache went away! No, no box sitting since. Silly trash panda!!

Nettie, GrandAngels are the most beautiful babies in the world! Soooo cute!

Here's an update on my straw bale garden. I have to feed "it" today as my pepper and tomato plants seem to have stopped growing...

    Enjoy the tour

    Broccoli

    Romano Beans

    Okra

    Lettuces

    Roma Tomatos

The roots on my radishes are all about 10"-12" long! They are the juiciest and crunchiest radishes I've ever had. I'm always planting new seeds to take the place of the radishes I pull. Hubby can't get enough of them!

    image

    Strawberry Patch, they've gone crazy!

    image

I have about 40-50 different veggies growing in my straw bale garden, way to many to post all of them.

I tried to look at the Green Climate Fund that DJT pulled us out of last Thursday. It's a very fancy web site that gives no real information. It has a login in, but only a few are able to log in. "global login: Welcome to GCF's online platforms. Please note that access to these secure portals is available to GCF Board members, National Designated Authorities (NDA) / Focal Points, Accredited Entities (AE) and those applying for accreditation."

What this prevents is any analysis of the money flow. Our tax dollars flow in, and there is no accountability as to expenditures. http://www.greenclimate.fund/projects/portfolio

In the past I commonly have evaluated charitable 501c3 organizations. There is a systematic way to do this. When a site like GCF is "locked" to prevent review, I would never recommend them. This has to do with transparency. Not transparent, then it's easy for whomever is manipulating the funds to cheat or simply be a poor administrator.

While this fund is not subject to the IRS laws of the US, applying the rules of Charity Navigator can be a guideline as to what to expect from a fund receiving our tax money. Mission & vision statement, complete explanation of who is contributing, how the funds are dispensed, follow up on grant money to determine outcome i.e. was the money used for the grants stated purpose, administrative costs and expenditures.

Edited to add This fund has already received 1 billion in 2016(17) from Obama. As near as known b/c they're no public records, but no other country has contributed to this fund. Again as the fund account is not open to public scrutiny

Exactly Sas! By doing this it is much easier for them to hide their true purpose and where the money goes! This is exactly why I don't trust an organization like Susan G. Komen. They never are honest as to how much is actually spent on non-administrative things.

This is a n interview with John Coleman co-founder of the Weather Channel. He and fellow current CEO David Kenny are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Coleman's interview is in the box at the end of the page. What I stated about the science isn't "consensus" and the money for funding, Mr Coleman says it better.

Mommie, A charity may have so many layers of web pages that the facts can be obscured. But a web site following Charity Navigator or other charity evaluator, knows to put the facts up front or easily accessed from page one. I found Komen difficult to do too. I was seriously biased against administrative costs. The number of folks receiving 6 figure salaries, didn't seem in keeping with a charitable foundation.

WenchLori, Have you tried cooking the radish greens? They aren't bad. Our radishes tend to get bugs, so we grow them for greens.

Sas, I agree with this guy. Weather Channel used to be about the weather, now it's becoming like all the other channels that run the reality tv crud. I am not a denier either, but I am a skeptic on the climate crud. It's all because Al Gore was pushing this crud while trying to make a name for himself on a global scale to distance himself from Bill Clinton.

Sun is supposed to return for the weekend and bring the warmer temps here. I told hubby we need to put the a/c's in before then otherwise it will be hard to be comfortable when we sleep.

Feeling a bit down today. It's the 7th anniversary of my older sister's passing.

Sassy, we stayed an extra day, got back yesterday. It's Adderall, not Ritalin that I'm taking, they are 30 mg tablets, I can take up to 2 a day but usually only take one. Doesn't hop me up, just lifts the heavy fatigue. Off to nap, but your post on the previous page about Churchill reminded me of this:

I know beating the poor horse to death. I referenced that the Obama WH through the DOJ was having the FBI look into investigating CC Deniers or skeptics. Of course, with the world brouhaha being waged in the public arena. The knowing is in the details. The Wall Street Journal last year Mar 2016 published an op-ed piece by David Rivkin. He and his co- author were making it known that they would be available to defend anyone that the "government" was trying to prosecute and persecute b/c they didn't agree with the "consensus". It's Orwellian that the government would attempt to prosecute b/c it falls under the First Amendment Right of Free Speech. I thought this very chilling at the time. Actually, scary as hell that government was trying to regulate scientific thinking. It was occurring not just in the US, but around the world.

This is the WSJ article. It will be whited out unless you have a subscription. But if you read fast you can't catch most of it

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/punishing-climate-change-skeptics-1458772173

This is a youtube article with Rivkin.

Okay, I will take the poor horse to the vet and let him rest awhile.

My favorite memory of my sister was she was my Matron of Honor when I got married. No matter how mad I was at her before that, at least we put it aside for that day and she kept our Mom out of trying to make my wedding day look like it was all about her and not me. I will never forget that and the fact that when I looked at my watch during the reception, I noticed my watch was reading a day later. When I showed it to my sister she smiled and said it was our Dad's way of showing he was there in spirit and he was happy for me.

She was so proud of me going to college and was always pleased at my grades when I would call her at the end of semester. She told me to keep going and that she was so proud of me. She also told me our Dad would be proud of me too. That more than anything made me cry.

Oh Mommy, what a special story. I hope you didn't cry in the retelling, but thank you for sharing. So, it gives us even more reason to cheer you on in school YAY Mommy.

Hmm so one share of a most favorite moment requires a quid pro quo..........I'm caught off guard. I will have to think of the best moment with my sister. Twin. I'll think of it overnight or so........
