Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet.
We all breathe the same air.
We all cherish our children's future.
And we are all mortal.
- John F. Kennedy -
"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up."
– John Andrew Holmes -
Chi Sandy.... I think I would love your friend! So glad she is doing so well!

Sorry for not having a quote. I've borrowed dh's computer for now as mine is in the shop --- for today only I hope. Will have to see how it goes. Should be back soon though.
-
Still working on computer issues but hopefully will start the process of a good resolve today.

People who take the risk make a tremendous
discovery: The more things you care about, and the more intensely you
care, the more alive you are. This capacity for caring can illuminate any
relationship: marriage, family, friendships--even the ties of affection
that often join humans and animals. Each of us is born with some of it,
but whether we let it expand or diminish is largely up to us. To care,
you have to surrender the armor of indifference. You have to be willing
to act, to make the first move. -Arthur Gordon -

I am cancelling. Not enough interest. 😊 The good news is that we all know there is life after breast cancer. We have just moved on. We can try Maggianos in the fall!

Count your blessings.
Once you realize how valuable you are
and how much you have going for you,
the smiles will return, the sun will break out,
the music will play, and you will finally
be able to move forward the life that God intended
for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.
- Og Mandino -
If a person be gracious and courteous to strangers,
it shows that one is a citizen of the world, and that
one's heart is no island cut off from other lands,
but a continent that joins to them.
Francis Bacon -
"A positive attitude may not solve all your
problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort."
-- Herm Albright -
When
nothing seems to help, I go and look
at a stonecutter hammering away at a rock perhaps
a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it.
Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know
it was not that blow that did it--but all that had gone before.
Jacob Riis -
The problem, often not discovered until late in life, is that when you look for tings in life like love, meaning, motivation, it implies they are sitting behind a tree or under a rock. The most successful people in life recognize, that in life they create their own love, they manufacture their own meaning, they generate their own motivation. For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more about the world today than I did yesterday, and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that get you.
Neil deGrasse Tyson

If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.

Hi Ladies,
My thoughts and prayers are with you for strength, healing and good health.
I just wanted to ask if any of you have any experience with the Breast Health Center at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield? I had my first mammogram (twice this week) and a ultrasound. I have to go back in a few months for another US. Just wanted to know anyones thoughts and good/bad experiences.
Thank you
-
Haven’t had any personal experience with CDPH, but it is Northwestern Medicine and Cleveland Clinic-affiliated, so you’re in excellent hands.
-
Thank you, ChiSandy! I did not know that they were affiliated. That's good news, thank you again

The only thing more important than being good is being real. Authenticity is kinder than resignation without conviction. Truth leads to good faster than good leads to truth. Ultimately truth is good, but you have to live it from the inside out.
Alan Cohen -
To honor and respect means to think of the land and water and plants and animals who live here as having a right equal to our own to be here. We are not the supreme and all-knowing beings, living at the top of the pinnacle of evolution, but in fact we are members of the sacred hoop of life, along with the trees and rocks, the coyotes and the eagles and fish and toads, that each fulfills its purpose. They each perform their given task in the sacred hoop, and we have one, too. - Wolf Song -
Happiness itself is sufficient excuse. Beautiful things are right and true; so beautiful actions are those pleasing to the gods. Wise people have an inward sense of what is beautiful, and the highest wisdom is to trust this intuition and be guided by it. The answer to the last appeal of what is right lies within one's own breast. Trust thyself. - Aristotle -
The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.
David Foster Wallace -
Pride makes us artificial, and humility makes us real.
- Thomas Merton -
"Hope arouses, as nothing else can arouse, a passion for the possible."
– William Sloan Coffin, Jr. -
Because gratification of a desire leads to the temporary stilling of the mind and the experience of the peaceful, joyful Self, it's no wonder that we get hooked on thinking that happiness comes from the satisfaction of desires. This is the meaning of the old adage, "Joy is not in things, it is in us."
Joan Borysenko -
There are no guarantees.
From the viewpoint of fear, none are strong enough.
From the viewpoint of love, none are necessary.
- Emmanuel (Pat Rodegast) -
Remember, if all life is sacred, then today is sacred. Ask yourself, What am I doing to feel joy today? A wonderful way to start the day is to bless it:
Blessings on this day, may I make it special in some way.
Blessings on my life, may I treat it with love and care.
Blessings on all people, may I see the goodness in everyone.
Blessings on nature, may I notice its beauty and wonder.
Blessings on the truth, may it be my constant companion.
- Charlotte Davis Kasl -
That's what we're here for:to make the world new.We know what to do:seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly, treat every person as if he or she were yourself. These are not complicated instructions. It's much harder to decipher the instructions for putting together a tricycle than it is to understand these. - Nancy Mairs

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger people!
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers.
Pray for power equal to your tasks.
Phillips Brooks -
The truth is, your attitude and mine are always our choice. No matter how bad things are, no one can force you to have a bad attitude if you don't want to, and no matter how good things are, no one can force you to have a good attitude if you don't want to. Now that should come as really good news because it says our attitudes don't have to be the victims of our circumstances or of other people. We choose our responses.
Mary Whelchel

As we let our light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence actually liberates others.
- Marianne Williamson
