My ultrasound showed a 1.2 cm very suspicious mass. I then had the core biopsy which proved malignant. Had MRI which said 3 cm. But I just got my final pathology report and it says 6 mm, but they will use the 1.2 cm for staging. Not sure how that makes sense, since what they can actually see in the their hand seems to be much more accurate than someone trying to read what they see on a screen. Possible explanation BS said is that they took a lot of the tumor for the biopsy.

Ultrasound showed 8mm. MRI showed 11mm. When it came out in surgery it was 14mm. There was mention of 4mm DCIS but now come to think of that I don't know if that's in addition to the 14mm or included in it (the surgeon said the IDC and DCIS, though pathology analyzes them separately it was all the same mass, only one focal area)

The entire tissue taken out (not including the lymph nodes, which was a separate incision) was 5cm x 3.8 cm x 2cm. Yes centimeters. (My breasts are tiny.)Holy cow.
