BS won't send me home with pain medication

WOW! VERY different with my Surgeon. He insisted that I had to have Oxy. Told him I did not want it as I had Vicodan at home that I have and occasionally take for upper back arthritis pain. He put in discharge orders that Son be told when he picked me up to be sure the Oxy script was filled. So it was, but did not need it. He had kept me on a morphine drip for over 12 hrs post surgery though I didn't want it. His 'theory' was there is no reason to not control pain and it's better/easier to keep it under control than to get it back under control if it gets bad.
