Ultrasound doctor wants to see me...?

Hi everyone,

I am 19, and found a lump in my breast about a month ago. I went to my family doctor to get it checked out, and she referred me to get an ultrasound. I just had the ultrasound tuesday, and today the ultrasound clinic called me and told me the doctor wanted to meet to discuss my results. The receptionist told me to drop by next wednesday anytime from 5:00-8.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience. This seems strange that the ultrasound doctor wanted to see me, instead of sending it to my family doctor. And its also strange that they didn't give me an appointment and told me to drop by then...

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

I am just guessing, but it could be there are some unanswered questions and probably want to discuss doing a biopsy.

The doctor probably wants to explain what it is and how to do monthly breast checks. You are very young to have these worries. A biopsy would be a scheduled diagnostic procedure that they would have already set up for you. It does not sound like time is of the essence. I would just chill until you speak with them in person.
