Each person's BC DX is unique to them as is TX plan. There is no 'One Size Fits All"! Nor are all types (IDC/DCIS/ILC/IBC) of BC are the same or have the same prognosis. There are so many variables within the individual DX - health at time of DX is one in addition to the DX. Different Drs will do different TX plans. For me (Thankfully), my Drs didn't follow the 'usual' TX plan. I did both neoadjuvant and adjuvant Chemo. Most will do one or the other. Not me, I did both - Worked for me.

I had my LX with SNB and minilift on 5/24. Doing ok so far. A little sore, bruising, swelling, and yes my arm is numb and tingly. My MRI and ultrasound showed healthy lymph nodes, but will see BSO on 6/5 so will get the official report then. Praying for clean margins and nodes.

So true - I think no two cancer cells are alike. We all seem to have a different path. I am sure BS and MO also have ways that they prefer as well. My BSO relies heavily on the Oncotype score to determine treatment. I was high risk so had chemo prior to surgery. I wouldn't want to do it again, but it was doable and the meds they have now keep you going. Once I heal from surgery - next is radiation. My tumor was completely gone after chemo ..... so was definitely the right path for me. Having chemo first gave me time to pray, research, and talk to others as far as LX or MX. At peace with my decision right now. It is not an easy one at all.

    Prayers for all -
