The Waiting Game Again

I'm 4.3 years out from my original diagnosis and had my "bi-annual" MRI two weeks ago and "something" lit up. My Dr and the Radiologist said that it wasn't "massively" concerning because it could be due to dense breast tissue etc (I forget exactly what she said as I was a bit in shock when she called). It was a 10mm spot (so really small) in my remaining breast. Tomorrow I have the Mammo and U/S - I guess so they can try to find it and biopsy if they do...
I'm doing a really good job of staying calm but I'm just in such a good place right now - finally lost all the weight, have been running 5 x week - have a great new job, hair is finally long and thick again.....
Has anyone had stuff light up in an MRI that wasn't cancer? If it was "nothing" - why didn't it light up 2 years ago at my MRI??

I am in the same boat! My palpable lumps were found during a breast exam by my PCP last week. I also have enlarged nodes under my arm. I'm just over 5 years cancer free.
I go for my diagnostic mammo and ultrasound Thursday. After all this time, I can't imagine starting all over again with surgery, chemo, etc. so I can sympathize with being anxious and a little scared.
Keep us updated! Praying for you!

Good luck to you chefmom. We are in the same boat it seems - same remaining breast too! I have a palpable lump in my right breast but they "say" they're not concerned about it (although all lumps are concerning to me!).
This area is in a different spot.

Hoping you both get answers soon and that they are benign. Keep us posted.

So my breast surgeon, and two radiologists feel that it's just a cyst. Could see it fairly clearly on the U/S and the mammo. They said I could do a needle biopsy or I can just wait 6 months and we'll recheck (which I have to do regardless..)
So I chose to just wait and go back in 6 months. I feel like 3 doctors can't be wrong - right??
-
Ukkate, I'd base the decision on whether to get the biopsy or whether to wait six months on how you feel about it. The three doctors are probably right, of course, but, if you're going to spend the next six months being worried about it, get the biopsy. If you can forget about it for six months, then wait it out.
I get to have an ultrasound of my liver tomorrow due to elevated numbers, thanks to bloodwork done at my PCP's office, which is also where the ultrasound is being done. It's the first time those numbers have been elevated, but I've also recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (and started meds for that,) and apparently that can cause it, or it can be for no good reason at all...or fatty liver, or.... lots of things. I've had moments of mild panic, but mostly I'm okay. I'll just be glad to get the ultrasound over with. Whatever it is, I guess we'll deal with it.
