INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Then keep calling the police. Unfortunately that's all you can do.
Earplugs don't work after a while.
The Edit/Delete key is NOT available on my previous post as of 5/27/17. Sorry, I did not mean to offend any one, especialy since I am Latina myself.
I put the words in my previous post in quotation marks to set them apart, so as not to offend anyone.....well, apparently THAT didn't work either.
As of now, I am signing off FOREVER from this particular thread.
My love, prayers, and best wishes are with all of you, my dear ladies.
Goodbye and good luck,
L

I am going to do just that until they learn that I am not playing games or making idle threats.
-
Sassy - The full name of the thread I created is Bonfire of the Goddess. Seriously, I can't believe it's still active. Firecracker has been keeping it going. It's kind of slow right now. Forum: Moving Beyond Cancer
I haven't been on BCO for a few days. Been busy getting things ready to leave for the summer. After hubby and I retired from the job we had in the RV park we are living in, we bought a 24 foot travel trailer and have been going to Ohio and spending 4 months with my family. It's so hot in South Texas and we prefer the cooler temps there. We are leaving Saturday and I don't have much done. Sometimes, I feel like I try and pack my entire house in a small camper. I clean my house before we go so I don't have to deal with it in the fall. All the doctor appointments are out of the way until Oct. Mail forwarding has been taken care of. Heck, I still have a long list. Thursday and Friday will be the really busy days. Hopefully we can pull out early Saturday morning and will be in Ohio sometime on Tuesday. We could do it in a couple of days but why hurry when we don't have to.
I will have internet the entire summer so I will pop in and out when I can. My family keeps me busy and we have lots of fun.

Animal House ....

Lita please, edit your post to take out explectives and racial derogatories Thanks
-
Sassy,
Your public post for lurkers and thread members to read.

As I type this, Lita's post has been public for TEN HOURS for lurkers and thread members to read.
Encouraging a curse filled confrontation with neighbors is a potentially dangerous thing to do. The language used in that piece of "advice" is not acceptable.
The repeated use of racial slurs is totally unacceptable.
I cannot understand how it is that the other members of this thread just sit and stay silent when such hateful and unpleasant posts are made.
I truly do love this group. Please, please.....let us all stick together and keep Insomniacs the "Safe Haven" it was intended to be.
-
...TEN HOURS...
I'm sorry...again. It's Memorial Day Weekend. I was off "trying" to live my life without thinking about STAGE 4 CANCER AND MY PROGRESSION for a few hours. The edit/delete keys were somehow disabled on my previous post, but that's okay.
I wish you all good luck, prosperity, and wonderful lives.
Dulces suenas y buena suerte, mis hermanas y amigas. (Sweet dreams and good luck, my sisters and friends)
I will not be posting on this thread ever again.
-
Oh boy! Thank you Lita for editing your post. Best wishes to you too.
-
Wait! I thought it was edited. How weird!! Perhaps the Mod can help delete the post.
-
What am I going to do with y'all? Can't leave you alone for a few days.
Mommy, I really hope you have good report tomorrow regarding your inconsiderate neighbors.
MT, have a fun and safe trip. I am glad Shep didn't scare you away.
Drove to LA early Friday morning to pick up DD and helped her move back home for the summer. Nice to have her home. Getting really sleepy but wanted to post a picture of Mitzy enjoying herself at our friends' place while we were away.
She is a character!!!
-
Neighbors must have gotten the message that I am not going to put up with their nonsense anymore. Their party broke up well before the noise ordinance kicked in. Felt good to not have to call the cops.
-
Teka sometimes a stance needs to be taken. What's appropriate in The Steam Room may not be appropriate elsewhere.
Mommy glad they seem to be getting the message. I agree with Shep confrontation doesn't always end well.
Loverly, YAY DD1 is home for the summer. One year done. Mitsy is a sweetie.
Mostly Mom Yes, Animal House. How could I forget. Animal Farm was Aldous Huxley Hahahaha, Got my animals mixed up
Good Luck lita
-
Shep & Loverly, , thanks for the backup, appreciated
Jo, my memory is getting seriously bad. Bonfire of the Goddesses. Have fun on your trip. If you remember when you get to the area. It would be fun to see if anyone remembers. my families from there. In 1976 I was in Lima and called my Dad in Detroit. Greg's family was able to say that there were still families there that my Dad remembered. That was 50 years later.
One family in particular ran the town bakery and the kids had continued it. It'd be a hoot if that same bakery was still in the same family.
-
Sassy,
I made no comment in my public post to you about the content in the Lita57 public post.
All you had to do was (Report this Post) or reach out to a Moderator in a private post.

Sassy, were you in the above comment referring to the STEAM ROOM FOR ANGER thread?
-
Sassy,
You didn't need Shep & Loverly for backup!!
-
I'll continue to be a member on the INSOMNIACS thread, but for now going to just sit and stay silent and leave y'all alone.
-
Let's all take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. I stepped out my front door took a deep breath and was rewarded with the smell of honeysuckle.
Lover, Mitzi is so cute! Looks like she's chillaxing in a very comfortable position.
M0mmy, what a relief it must have been when your neighbors ended their party early.
This is my work station were I spent yesterday chillaxing. I was sipping wine and painting my veggie stakes.
Praying everyone is having a nice weekend.
-
Teka yes, I was referring to the Steam Room For Anger. It's another of my threads. If you haven't read the topic box, that threads intent is for anger and ranting. It's a space to do that. It's a space to let the words rip. What was objectionable was the identification of an ethnicity and explectives. The Mods were contacted. Time passed. Nothing was done. I acted. Only later did the mods act. One time on Warm & Fuzzies, it was getting pretty "blue", I asked folks to not do that b/c it didn't fit the place. They were certainly funny, but I had to look at the overall. It wasn't the popular thing , but it was the right thing to do.
Is anonymity better when objecting to something. It's easier. But there are times as I said that (I) to take a stance.
Had I not acted we wouldn't be having an exchange in posts. You are expressing that you object to me objecting. That's reasonable, I can deal with that.
-
Looks like my idiot neighbors might be having another party. I hope not!!!!
-
Maybe join the party, then maybe the idiot neighbors will keep the noise level down so you don't know about their next party! ^..^
-
That would probably have the idiot neighbors sitting in the dark. ^..^
-
Happy to finally have had two nights of uninterrupted sleep. The neighbors party ended a bit early due to the threat of rain showers.
-
We have neighbors who get outside and cheer some game they're playing. I think they cheer every time anyone hits the ball or shuttlecock. It sounds like a whole school cheering. It would be fine if they played and then did something else, but it can go on for hours. At least it's during the day. We had other neighbors who didn't realize the party was over until the cops came. Once we figured that out, we didn't hesitate to call. Finally someone (perhaps the cops?) tipped off the owner, an elderly woman who was letting her granddaughter live there. She took action.
-
FFH has had to work all day and half the night each calendar day of this long Memorial Day weekend. Each year at this time, our lil' beach town become inundated with "motorcycle enthusiasts" . I worry about him out there on patrol. There are some real ruff riders out there!
-
Glad to hear your neighbors behave themselves, Mommy. It get so stressful when the neighbors only think about themselves. We are fortunate our new next door neighbors no longer blast their music late at night. They responded with just a friendly request to turn their music down after 10 p.m.
-
Oh hi there Shep! Those are scary motorcycle riders. Was going to post some pics for Memorial Day.
For some, everyday is Memorial Day.
As always, grateful to be an American.
-
Teka, I don't always agree with Ms. Sas, but I did appreciate her for publicly asking Lita to edit her post. I don't think Ms. Sas' intention was to shame or embarrass Lita, but only out of consideration for others who read the thread. If I wrote or posted something that is offensive, I would like to know. What is offensive to one may not be offensive to another. It's not hard to misunderstand when we only have words. I don't like conflict and hate to see people not getting along. We all have different backgrounds and circumstances. People deal with trials differently and it shows in their posts. No one is perfect and I am not here to judge. Just wish that we could understand each other better.
Edit post cuz I couldn't think straight earlier.
-
SusieM, good to see you. Thought about you the other day.
-
Lover, Amen! 🙏🙏🙏
ShepK, HI!!! I'm a biker babe but I'm harmless! DH just got himself another bike and said to let him know when I find the one I want. I sold my bike to my DSIL when I moved here from Texas. Then he sold it to his Dad so it's still in the family I guess lol
M0mmy, nice that your neighbors have kept it down the past 2 nights. I hope they can make it 3 in a row!
Waving hello to everyone 👋👋
