I was just diagnosed with LCIS. Not quite sure where I belong within the forums. The LCIS forum looks a bit debunked. I'm just very happy with these results, although the research I've done with LCIS looks ominous in the long run. Any input would be much appreciated!

    T. I would recommend Lumpectomy Lounge for pre and post surgery decisions. You will find alot of input from experienced women in that forum. If you do radiation, get into a thread that others whom have your radiation time frame are in. If you do hormonal therapy, there are some good threads on each medication. My thread, Uplifting and Positive Messages, focuses on how to stay upbeat and live life while going through hormone therapy. We also discuss the benefits of hormone therapy. Hope this helps.

    Michelle, she won't get radiation.

LCIS is just a marker that you may be at increased risk for possibly developing cancer in the future. It is not cancer. It is not the lobular equivalent of DCIS. She will just be monitored more closely and possibly offered an antihormonal.

Most women with LCIS do NOT go on to develop cancer

    thank you ladies!

I have a surgery consultation today. They will be removing it, as it's radial scar with LCIS cells. I'm very relieved that it's only LCIS and nothing more! Thank you for the info & I'll hop on over to the other forums! Have a great day!
