odd reaction from a doctor. Its not your fault it came back. Perhaps she/he is a very clinical person and just comes off cold. Good luck with surgery and keep us updated.

I'm slowly calming down after my visit with my onc.

My bone scan was clean. My surgeon called yesterday and we're getting ready for a surgery date. She'll remove the 1.1 centimeter tumor under my right arm pit where the mastectomy scar ends.

My treatment plan will be taking Aromasin (an estrogen-blocker) daily and add another anti-depressant to my medication list if I need it for the potential Aromasin side effects. (depression, hot flashes, moodiness. leg cramps) This medication is called Effexor Xr. And the pills are on their way in the mail.....

    Thanks for caring. XO

So glad your bone scan was clean and you can get your surgery scheduled! Waiting is just awful.

Effexor can be really helpful for depression and anxiety. The XR is extended release so you don't have to take it as frequently.

    sending you light and ((hugs))

I am glad your scan was normal. I felt terrible for you when you said the Onc made you feel bad. No one needs that when dealing with this disease. I keep having to tell myself that my recurrence wasn't from something I did or didn't do. I sure don't want other people to make feel that way

    Pabbie,

As well as a bone scan have you had a CT scan with contrast?

Insensitive as it sounds and a tad unprofessional I think your onc, especially if you know them for a long time was frustrated at the disease not You.

Thinking of you as you have to deal with this beast one more time !

Pabbie, good luck with your new treatment.

Hey Wildplaces, I agree. It sounds like frustration to me, too.

You didn't cause the recurrence. So glad to hear bone scan is good. There were probably left over cells from the mastectomy. Take care of yourself, and good luck.

Agree with Wildplaces, oncs are human and disappointment often gets disguised in an insensitive remark.

The important thing is that you have a clear scan and a good plan. Best of luck.

    Thank you everyone.

Wildplaces: I did have a CT scan with contrast. Just showed the new mass and I have a fatty liver which I knew about.

Thank you all for your thoughts and comfort re: my onc. As the days go by I'm forgetting about her comments and focusing on my surgery, which is next Friday, 5/26.

Thanks for caring. Take care of yourselves, too.

I am glad your bone scan was clear and you found out before the weekend. To wait for those results was more than stressful, I'm sure. Happy for you!

Glad it was clear. No excuse for onc to make you feel bad. I'd find a new one. This is the one doc you will have for a very long time, mine is for life so out of everyone, she must be the best in all aspects and not just medically.

I am sorry your MO made you feel that way. Hopefully she just had a bad choice of words. If she acts that way again, consider finds an MO who is more compassionate. It makes a world of difference. I have a new MO and this one is such a good fit for me

    Love the ducks!!

Good so both scans are clear !! - one small local lesion - You've got this ! - Kbee is right it is important to be on the same page with your onc. If it was one off and you have a good relationship tell them how they made you feel when the time is right. If it's a recurrent pattern that is another matter.

    Hugs
