INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

I'm busy doing the monster laundry that results from changing seasons. I've decided to wear summer clothes - with a fleece jacket over them if necessary. We finally hit 70 for the first time.
-
Had to do the same with my seasonal wardrobe

Eeyore and Lita, I'm so sorry to hear of the progression! I'm sending up extra special prayers for both of you!
Sensi, Stu told me last night my hair was going to look funny if it keeps coming in the way it is. He says it's straight on top but curly in the back. Looks like I may have some curls too.
Sassy, here's a picture of my strawberry "stand". I couldn't believe how many wild strawberry patches we have this year! I raised my mower deck up so I wouldn't chop up the berries, the property is covered in them! No wonder the geese are coming right up to the house, their eating wild strawberries. They better not get into my strawberries!
We got home from the party about 11pm Saturday night. I finally fell asleep around 1am and I slept until 2:30pm the next day! Boy was I wiped out! Stu always laughs and tells me I've gotten in the habit of getting up just in time to go to bed. I hung out in my garden for a little bit this morning then jumped on Sporty and spent 4 hours mowing the lawn. I started a fire in our fire pit last night so I could get fresh ashes for my mushroom garden that I'm finishing tomorrow after my MO appointment. It's just a follow up for a skin check and to get my prescription for Tamoxifen. Next step soon to start on this crappy BC journey.
Fire pit christening last night. We put the fire pit in over a year ago and I finally used it for the first time last night. You can say I'm pretty slow at doing things, what's the hurry?
Hello to everyone!

A Cup of Tea
by Anonymous
When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.
There is magic in its fragrance,
There is solace in its taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.
And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.
-
WenchLori,
I grew up in Essex County NY, but make many day trips to Plattsburgh. Sooo we both know about frigid Winters!
-
Oh Eeyore! (((hugs)))
What a stupid word, progression. "Pro" is the Latin word meaning "for, on behalf of". Who in their right mind would be "for" cancer spreading? "Anti" is derived from an ancient Greek word meaning meaning "Against, hostile to. So logically, should it not be called an "antigression"?
-
Gotta put the finishing touches on hubby's present from me and the "kids" so it will be ready for his birthday tomorrow.
-
MOmmyof2,
I am curious as to what Hubby's BD present is!?
Is it a secret?

How to stop unwanted scam calls
**Once you register your numbers, by law they have up to 31 days to still contact you. Some are programmed, called auto dial, as it may take 31 days to get you off the auto dial list for that marketing company. After day 32 you can file a complaint per number with the FTC if it continues.**
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls.
You can register your home or mobile phone for free. You can register all your phones. https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx
After you register, other types of organizations may still call you, such as charities, political groups, debt collectors and surveys. To learn more, read the FAQs. https://www.donotcall.gov/faq/faqdefault.aspx
If you received an unwanted call after your number was on the National Registry for 31 days, report it to the FTC. https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
The Federal Trade Commission is a government agency that protects the consumer.
*****
All open credit cards have an 'opt out' feature you can call and limit who/what marketing calls or mail you receive. Recommend this for each credit card you have.
All utilities have an 'opt out' feature, call each utility company and request unwanted phone/mail contacts to be stopped (electric, gas, land lines, cable, etc.).

Love the Cup of Tea poem.
-
Thank You!!
-
Made hubby a music CD of the songs I have gotten from ITunes.
-
You and the Kids made Hubby an excellent BD present while having fun picking out the songs!
-
Eeyore07,
So sorry and hope a minimal of side effects during chemo.
-
^..^
-
Yep. His son barked when he heard a good one and his daughter kept butting me in the arm to get my attention. Hubby can listen to it on his way to work tomorrow for his birthday
-
Yoga girl, We put our number on the Do Not Call List and I think the calls doubled. We no longer answer our land line until someone leaves a message. I'm getting calls on my cell from some sort of marketer. All the calls start with 794 - the next 4 numbers vary. I don't answer them. Very few people have my cell number and they are all in my contact list. The only reason we still have a land line is for 911 emergencies. They have your address and know where to come.
-
Exctly Wren. We signed up when the Do Not Call thing came out and it hasn't stopped any of it
-
Teka Lovely poem.
Mommy, the CD sounds like fun, hope he enjoys it
Yoga _girl Thanks I'll watch for them. Thanks for the do not and opt out info.
-
Hubby loves the CDs I make for him.
-
Teka, I like be the cup of tea poem also.
M0mmy what a great bday gift!
I just got done at my MO's office. He's decided to start me on Arimidex instead of the Tamoxifen. We'll see how it goes, wish me luck!
I also get to have my port removed! Yay me!! My consult with my BS is on 5/30. I can't wait to have this little bugger removed!
Gentle healing hugs to everyone 🤗
-
Lori, it is so nice when that bugger comes out. I couldn't sleep comfortably on my right side when it was in.
-
Sofia sticking out her tongue at Mr. Cancer
-
That a girl Sofia!! Chase Mr Cancer right out of your Mama's house!
-
Good girl Sofia!!!!
-
Junie- my hair has always been straight. Much happier now that I've got it cut. Chance is good. I spoiled him and bought a pool, to keep him cool. Love that it has a lid, so he can't get in while I'm at work.
-
He looks like he's having a blast!
