I went to the nursery today and planted geraniums in my front porch pot. I also bought myself some purple tulips. Flowers of every type fills me with pure joy.
Just living is not enough ... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower. Hans Christian Anderson
Happy early Mother's Day!

If you wake up smiling, your sun will always be shining... WenchLori
I'm off to see how my garden has grown since this time yesterday.
Have a Wonderful Mother's Day to All of the Moms here!
-
scaredashell07 - love your quote! It is so true. The art of living simply and in the moment is to treasure the here and the now.
Butterfly1234 - Excellent quote as well....and we can all learn from that one.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!
Today's was Peoria's Race for the Cure. It was emotional and uplifting to have walked in the Survivor's parade for the first time. Yes I did cry (but not too much and at least I wasn't bawling).
-
How was all the Mom's Mother's Day yesterday? We spent the day shopping for stuff for my garden and I had a blast spending money. My DH has finally agreed to put in a dock for me on our pond. I'd go out in the paddle boat more if I felt safer getting into it without ending up in the pond with the snapping turtles!
I got to go visit with my Mom at the nursing home last night. I went later in the evening so I could surprise her. I brought her her favorite strawberry milk shake and we sat and had ice cream together. It was very special for both of us.
I am so blessed and I pray everyone of you are blessed also ๐๐

Did some planting and bought some hanging baskets I can see from my kitchen window and breakfast nook. Today was my first week of Armidex without any side effects. I'm hoping this lasts. Really making an effort to keep exercising with visits to gym or yoga. Spring makes me happy and peaceful. A rebirth and renewal. Be well all.
-
Love your attitude, Butterfly! I'll keep it in mind come July when I start on Arimidex. I'll be starting my rads next week - mapping was easy and the techs were great. Enjoy your hanging baskets.

We're with you Tappersmom. It's been two weeks since my last rad. Just a little pink and a bit itchy. Very manageable. You rads will go just as smoothly.
-
I wish there were "like" buttons here as on Facebook. Thanks for the good thoughts, Butterfly!

Good luck on your rads journey Tappermom383.
WenchLori - so glad to hear that DH is going to install a dock for you. That'll be perfect this summer. Paddle boating does sound like fun!
Butterfly1234 - glad you got some flowers to enjoy. Keep up the motivation with your workouts. They do really help with fatigue. I am so tired today, but did manage to go for a 2 mile walk. I do feel better already.
I haven't planted any flowers yet in the pots on my balcony. I'm waiting until I get back from vacation. Can't wait - we leave for Key West on Sunday. That'll be the perfect celebration for finishing rads. Tomorrow is my LAST treatment!!!!

-
Sunrise- enjoy your trip. Key West is on my bucket list. Be careful of the sun on your tender skin.
-
ILSunrise, yay for being at the end of your rad treatments! I agree, be very careful out in the sun, it'll drain you pretty quickly. Wear light weight long sleeve blouses and a hat if possible. I ignored these recommendations for the first few weeks but soon found out that's the wrong way to think. I love your quote of the day, beautiful!
-
WenchLori and Butterfly1234 - I will be careful in the sun. I bought a couple rash guards I plan to wear over my bathing suits and of course I have quite the selection of hats now thanks to chemo. My hair is starting to grow back so while I'm in KW, I'll probably ditch my wig most of the time since it'll be so hot. I'm not someone who lays out on the beach or by the pool and usually try to find an umbrella or some shade. But I hear you about the sun.....I'm sure it's going to zap my energy much faster than normal. I'll try my best to take it easy, but since I love the outdoors and being active I am already looking forward to yoga on the beach, stand up paddle board and bike riding.
-
Sunrse - your trip will be a time for fun and renewal. Enjoy every minute.

Lovely Sunrise
Have a great day all!
Though we travel the world to find the beautiful, we must carry it within us or we find it not. Ralph Waldo Emerson

In May, when sea-winds pierced our solitudes,
I found the fresh Rhodora in the woods,
Spreading its leafless blooms in a damp nook,
To please the desert and the sluggish brook.

I love the two Emerson quotes! I have to confess, I have a daily "Simplicity" calendar I keep at work and I'm stealing many of my quotes from it that I post in this forum. Since I'm going to be out of town next week, I peeked ahead. I do want to post one of them now...and I'll save a couple more for sometime next week (if I check this board while on vacation).
"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." - Anais Nin
I am thankful I found this community and met you guys. It is truly through this on-line friendship that I've gained more strength and courage to deal with the hurdles life has thrown at us.
-
ILSunrise, we are thrilled we have you too! You are a fantastic source of strength and love for all of us! Travel safely and have a wonderfully, fantastic, relaxing vacation. I wish I were going with you! Our big vacation will be next year. My DH has offered me the world! Now to decide where to go!

I feel the same way about all of you. I have a journal with uplifting sayings that I'm sharing as well. Peaceful evening all and thank you for your caring and support

Here is my inspiration for the day
3 of my beautiful silly grandangels
Jayce (4) JJ (7mos) Olivia (2.5)
This is how JJ fell asleep last night. He's silly awake or asleep! DD got up just long by enough to snap a few pictures for me. I love these little ๐s to pieces!
It's pouring rain here and we have a crawfish boil to go to later this afternoon. I'll be bringing several umbrellas and some plastic sheeting. I think we can set our chairs on the edge to hold it down and keep the other end within reach. If it starts pouring we can run to our chairs grab the end of the plastic bring it up and over us and hold it down with our feet. It could work!
Praying everyone has a blessed weekend.
Healing hugs to all that needs one.
-
Wench - Love the pictures and your beautiful grandchildren! What joy they bring to us.
Hope everyone is dong well. 15 days on Arimidex and no Ses so far. Taking it one pill and one day at a time. Planted vincas yesterday for the first time. I bought a flat but they are really tiny and hope they grow fast lol.
Walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers - most of which are never even seen - don't you think he'll attend to you, and take pride in you, do his best for you? Matthew 6:28-31
-
Butterfly, I'm happy to hear so far so good on Airimidex! I'm at my MO now waiting to see him to get my prescription for Tamoxifen. I'm praying I have no SEs on this stuff lol
-
glad to have this page. I am finishing rads tomorrow and not sure what I will do with my afternoons back. Lol
I am going on a class trip with my son and am looking forward to it very much.
I'm so afraid of this cancer coming back and Become obsessed with stats and other people's profiles. I have to admits I'm jealous of those profiles that seem to have better potential for bettwr outcome. It's silly i know
-
Scaredashell, Yay! Congratulations on finishing up your treatments tomorrow! It took me awhile not to panic when I woke up just before my treatment appointment time when I first finished. I use my mornings to sip coffee and sit on my balcony or deck and watch critters. Praying you will recover from rads quickly and completely ๐๐
-
I'm just checking in real quick. Having a great time in Key West enjoying the sun and laid back lifestyle. Here is the quote of the day.
Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live. - Dorothy Thompson
-
ILSunrise - Love your quote. Key West sounds great. Never been, but hope to someday.
Scaredashell - Yeah, you are done! Looking at your profile, seems like you are on the right track to hold the beast at bay.
Sending everyone healing, uplifting thoughts!
-
ILSunrise, love your quote. Key West sounds wonderful. Resting and enjoying the beaches are amazing healers.
-
When you're with a friend, your heart has come home. Emily Farra
Have a wonderful weekend all!
-
Thank you Butterflt! You have a great weekend also!
I got our pool all hooked up yesterday, what a job that was as I did it all by myself. Yeah, I over did it but it's done. DH wants me to let the rain do the filling, I don't think he realizes that we'll need 12-15" of rain to do that. Or that I can't start the pump and the cleaning unless the pool is full. This should make a funny video when the notion hits him lol
My positive thought for the day. Stop and notice the beautiful of the simple things in life.
Butterfly, I thought of you as I snapped a picture of this beautiful butterfly
