Nipple - tattoo or skin grafting
Any suggestions on what do to about the nipple? I am getting my implants in a couple weeks. I have no nipples and would just like to do the tattoos so I don't have to go back for more procedures. Plastic surgeon recommends the skin grafting over the tattoos but he is a guy so wondering what others have done.

I did 3D tattoos with Vinnie Myer in Baltimore. Took a special trip out there 18 mo post mx. Best decision I ever made. No bra, ever.

I decided to skip surgical Nipple reconstruction and went straight for the 3D tattoos last week here in Chicago. They look amazing and did the trick for me. My PS seemed a little annoyed by my choice. But I think they want to see the whole process through and consider anything less than a surgically reconstructed nipple to be unfinished.

Have you tried the rub on nipples? I bought the sampler package and have had a lot of fun with them. My DH likes them so much I'm considering the 3D tattoos. Try them and see if having just the look of a nipple is enough for you

I think that is what I'm going to do. I don't want to wear a bra either! Thank you

Hi, I had the nipple reconstruction and it then went flat, so I got the 3D nipple tattooing by Vinnie Myers which I think looks as good as it can possibly get.

I just had my double mastectomy 5 weeks ago...so I have time to make my decision, I'm leaning towards tattoos....either nipple tattoos or something pretty lol But I want to be able to never wear a bra and I'm afraid if i get something pretty, like flowers etc it will show through clothes and I'll have to wear a bra etc..
My friend at work went to Vinny in March (had her double mastectomy 2 years ago) she showed me hers and they look AMAZING!! I was blown away at how real they look!!

I did the skin graft and nipple forming when I did my bilateral reconstruction seven years ago. I like the results, but think if I had to do it again, I would just do the 3D nipple tattoos.

Just a few days back i was for another fill and the nurse mentioned something about the third phase of breast reconstruction. It took me some time to realize she was talking about nipple reconstruction. I laughed and told her i had no intention of doing it and instead i would do 3d tattoos. She was so surprised and tried so hard to talk me out of it that i found it rather comical. But then my bs came and when he heard it he seemed not only annoyed but somehow angry. I tried to explain my reasons and how great some 3d tattoes are but he just was not interested so i gave up. I hate their arrogance at times. Either way, its gonna be tattoes or nothing for me.

Shown them Vinnie Myer's site and ask if they can recreate the look of a nipple better that he can. Um no.
Good for you for sticking to your guns.

My ps convinced me to do the skin graft, from left leg panty line. Dressing changes twice a day (I dont remember how long I did that, - maybe 10 days - 2 weeks) were a hassle, but I must admit, the result is amazing.

FarmerLucy, so good to find someone that totally gets it! Actually, I have already bookmarked Vinnie's site on my iphone and I'm going to show his work to my bs next time I go for a fill. Not to change his mind, (actually I don't give a dime for his mind), but just to wipe that arrogance smile out of his face! Ha

I had nipples created - dr did a little oragami type cut and stitch. super easy - they I had areolas tattooed. Couldn't be happier. I actually wanted a little 'bump' for when I don't wear a bra - to me it looks very natural to see a tiny nipple through clothes - vs smooth. But the 3-D's look amazing as well.

I have the same type of origami nipple that Jackster described, plus Vinnie tattoos. Love them!
