Prickly And Pain on Side of Breast...Anyone?

Options

Hi, ladies! I'm mostly stealth mode in this community, I read a lot of posts but usually don't have much advice to give. However, I value you all greatly and need some advice from you. I've been having a poking or prickly sensation on one side of my breast for over a month now. It is often acccompanied by a sharp pain. When it first happened, I thought I had something stuck in my bra. My MO dismissed it because she didn't "feel" anything, but it's different than anything I've ever felt. Its not red or warm or different looking in any way. But it's not getting any better. Any thoughts or anyone else have this happen? I'm just over 5 years cancer free and nervous.Thank you in advance

I was having that same sensation .. they found some thickening so they are doing an ultrasound even though my mammogram was all clear. So maybe it's due to scar tissue pulling ... I would for sure try and contact someone to go through so testing anyway at least an ultrasounds of the area. My initial cancer was traveling along the nerve pathways. A second well asthe lymph vessels. I hopeit turns out to be something simple like the scartissue. Love hugs and prayers, teresa

it could be nerve regeneration; that can cause all kind of weird sensations. Ask your BS for another opinion

This is actually in my remaining breast, no surgical side. I've never had a problem on this side before. The pain is pretty bad at times. My MO says to go to my PCP since there's no palpable lump. And my mammo 6 months ago showed nothing remarkable. But at my first dx, I had one very tiny spot show up on the mammogram, but when they removed my breast, I had five tumors. And it was in my lymph nodes. As a matter of fact, one of my nodes had broken open and had a "finger" of cancer coming out of it (that's how BS described it). So, I believe in mammo but they aren't the be all end all in diagnosis for those of us with dense breast tissue.

I try not to panic when I have a pain that lingers, regardless of where it is, but there's always the underlying worry.

I've got a call in to PCP because I also have a cough I can't get rid of so maybe I'll get some answers. Thank you ladies for just being there.
