Black "freckles" on breast that was radiated

Just wondering if, in the onslaught of information your rad onc gave you at your first visit, s/he mentioned--but your overwhelmed mind didn't process--the tattoos that s/he uses to position your breast and body consistently throughout treatment. My rad onc actually described these tattoos as "freckles," and even had one on the back of her own hand to show patients how inconspicuous the tats really are.

The tats sort of circle the breast being treated--I remember having a tat alongside it on the rib cage and also one on the untreated side (for body positioning), 1 above it under the bra strap, 1 between my breasts low in the cleavage on the sternum, 1 under the breast, but I can't remember where the 6th one was. So if your freckles that weren't there 9 months ago are in a distinct pattern, then you might ask your rad onc if they are the tattoos. By the way, almost four-and-a-half years out, 5 of my 6 have faded into oblivion, while the 6th one (under the bra strap) is still visible but is also fading.

I went thru that when I finished rads. Eventually it peeled like a sunburn. The dead skin was quite brown.
