Back again for support. I have a biopsy scheduled for Monday. They saw some new calcifications that are clustered close to my lumpectomy site. They said it is suspicious for malignancy. It has been 3 1/2 years since my surgery. I had a very a small .12cm of invasive ductal cancer inside of DCIS. Followed treatment with radiation. No other treatment do to the low hormone receptor. I also was HER2 positive but no treatment because of the size of invasive. Very nervous and could use some encouragement.

Risteadman - this happened to me last year (4 yours out from my lumpectomy for DCIS/ 7 1/2 weeks of radiation). I had a stereotactic biopsy and the radiologist told me what I had were atypical cells (my pathology report says atypia due to radiation of lumpectomy cavity). Because of the atypia cells I needed to see a breast surgeon (in case something was lurking behind the atypia). I had an excisional biopsy and got the all clear. This year my mammogram was good. I hope you have the same results and everything is fine. It is a bit of a worry though and waiting for answers is the hardest part.

    Hi Risteadman

Thinking of you and sending you hugs. Hope you get favourable result. You don't say how large the area of microcalc is. Have your docs discussed possibility of MR. May be worth thinking about if biopsy is negative since you only get a few mm of the area when you biopsy.
