I'm a 28 yo with a palpable lump that feels like a swollen duct/lobule, (as confirmed by OB and GP) started tender now completely painless. After a few days I noticed a small hard lump next to the first that felt like a bead, again painless. OB ran a prolactin test to assure I wasn't lactating and experiencing trapped milk/mastitis because of the first lump feeling More like a swollen duct. Test came back fine, not lactating. Ultrasound showed extremely dense breast tissue but nothing of concern. I went for my mammogram today and got to peek while the technician consulted the dr and saw a tiny white dot next to the marker for my small hard lump. My pictures were mostly white as I have very dense breasts and I was rushed so didnt see much else. I understand microcalcifications present this way and are generally harmless but everything I read also says they can't be felt, so why am I feeling mine mine? Is a microcalcification more concerning when a lump is felt?

    goingforgold,

So are you certain that what you are feeling is a microcalc? to answer your second question, it depends on what the lump turns out to be. What are your providers saying? or, what did the written report say?

also, I would stick to one thread.

thank you for your response! I am not sure that it is a microcalcification that I am feeling but the tech had me use a sticker to mark the tiny bead like spot and where that was the mammo showed a tiny white dot. The only thing I could find online was a microcalcification. Is there anything else I could feel that would show as a tiny white dot? I haven't heard back yet. Hopefully soon. Just the worry-filled wait now.

just called OB office to see if results were in but my dr wasn't. I told them I didn't want to worry all weekend and they told me that it said "no evidence of malignancy." Hooray! But, I do wonder if that means they didn't see anything or just that it's not cancer. Guess I'll have to wait for that

No malignancy means that whatever they saw (IF they saw anything) wasn't BC. so that is a big "yay" for you in time for the weekend. Any other details can wait until next week. Go celebrate!
